Sabelt seats
« on: July 07, 2017, 07:03:27 am »
Hi guys. I´m trying to find and buy a pair of lowering brackets for my Sabelt seats i n my Punto.
So i´m wondering if the 500:s have the same seats, and if i can use those lowering brackets.
In that case i can buy them from TMC motorsports.. Thank´s

I would give TMC a call, the floor pans are different so would not automatically think they would fit.

GTMartin: I have spoken to TMC, and the ones they provide are only for 500:s  :(
I also spoke with Sabelt, but they only manufacture for Fiat, and can´t sell anything...
so i should contact Fiat instead apparently. I´ll give that a try...

    Thank´s  :thumb:

Has anyone fitted Sabelts from a 500 into a Punto Evo  or Grande Punto ? I know they require different fittings /mods but wondering if anyone here has done this and , if so, how difficult was it ?

I think it has been thought of before, but the differences in the fittings have put people off. Bearing in mind that potentially the seats are subject to huge forces, it would have to be done right.

Totally understandable, thanks. That said there are some suppliers (in Italy) who do advertise the seats as being suitable for APE with small modifications. Do we know if there is anyone at all still able to supply Sabelts specifically for Punto's ? Or is it jsut a case of finding someone selling / breaking theirs ?

    Cheers

I´v contacted a local seller, and when and if i´ll be buying a set of sabelt seat belts, i´ll probably have to try out a couple of models to se what will fit. The big question is where to best fit them. Either under the rear seat or maybe on a rear strut bar, then whitout the rear seats mounted of course. We will see..  But i won´t be buying new belts unless i decide to go for track days with my APE.
