Super sport with esseesse ?
« on: March 27, 2014, 03:04:29 pm »
Hi was just wondering if it was worthwhile getting the esseesse kit fitted to my Agp SS ?

Not to sure what benefits if any it would make to the car, so any info would be great

Cheers

It's a harder ride, but not bad like most people like to scare you with, roads round hear are not great in places but not a problem since the change. Also not had the koni probs that some people have mentioned...guess it's down to an older bad batch..the car Handles much better on 18's compared to the 17's, when you engage sport mode the suspension comes into it's own along with a much better hold on the road feeling than standard. I literally threw it in to a corner I test all my cars on when I had it done and noticed the difference, had more confidence.  Had the 180 map anyway so no change there, but they did update it for me with a slightly newer one from Turin.  Fully floating disks...defo worth it! Seeing as you have the Brembos anyway...I toyed with the idea of doing it but I can say I am glad that I did go for it, some people might say different but seeing as I have a Supersport with the esseesse kit it was something no one else had done at the time, would be nice to have company!  I believe having the kit it what it should have been like anyway, but they gotta get your money somehow eh? Only thing I would advise is not to get the white wheels, they look amazing but unless you clean them every day! And I mean every day, the brake dust makes they look soo soo bad, I have titanium and personally it goes well with my campo great and black stripes. Just my two pence...

Personally I would say only the Koni kit is missing from the Supersport and worth fitting. The floating discs are obviously better but overkill on these cars. They also cost a fortune to replace. The design of the 18's are nice but none are nicer than the 17 claws.

    +1

Mr TMC sells the Koni kit for £580ish..  Plus the SS kit is no longer available, so you won't get the remap applied.

So you reckon iffI contact Wessex cars they won't have the kit in anymore, that's annoying hahaha

If I buy the Komi kit do you reckon they will allow me to get it fitted as the car is on a PCP ?

But thanks for the info guys I shall send the dealer an email now that I know it's worth while

    Cheers

They might have one in stock, but as it was a high price item I should imagine they only ordered them in when they were purchased..

The Koni kit however is definitely worth it and it is still available to order :)

As for PCP - doubt there would be any issues, just be prepared you might need to return it to stock when it comes to handing back :)

I think you may be getting your acronyms a little confused. SS = esseesse not Supersport (confusing I know) Also I did hear esseesse actually means Supersport just to make it even more confusing :P

I'd like to give the Koni's a go but cant justify the money for them at the mo as I'm moving house, also as FullMetalScorpion said the floating discs would be overkill. Think someone got quoted several hundred pounds to be replaced!
