Car dealers/finance - want to stick it right up you when you buy the thing, want to give you nothing for it when you want to sell.

    Nothing new there.

Would be interesting to see what another dealer would offer to get a comparison.

Sometimes can be quite a difference.

But yeah I would still be upset at such an offer!

When I looked at p/x my old focus I was offered 1500 max. Told them to stuff it and it sold privately 2 days later for 3250. Thats book value tho and they wont offer a penny more.

Its all about profit with the dealerships, and they know they can take advantage of a no hassle p/x and finance deals.

Current 11 plate evo ss with good history are selling 11-12k easy, even 10 plates are still 9-10.5k. I should know as I just bought one lol

It's a badge thing when it comes to selling a car, Buy a VW, Audi, BMW, Skoda, Jag etc the price won't drop much when you come to sell it.

All APE's only appeals to a selective small market so the price drops quite a lot.

I paid £18k for my APE 1st July 2012 (inc 3 x factory options) spend £400 on mods, now runs at 178BHP & worth roughly £10-£11k.

I have until June 2015 before I need to pay up or I may buy a Supersport & change my mods over to it.

CAP is just about the most useful free valuation site if you want to check:

    http://www.cap.co.uk/consumer/free-used-car-valuations?gclid=COiz4v3F0LwCFWoOwwodSiEA3Q

Puntos - Fiat and Abarth depreciate very badly. You really need to get the mother of all discounts at purchase time. Especially if you are on a PCP. IMHO FGA over estimate the "GMFV" on these. Depreciation is nearly always the biggest cost in motoring, anyway.
