If it was described to me I would of said it's going to look crap but that image is great, not really bringing anything new to the table though, its just an APE with an esseesse kit and paintjob, no extra power or anything to help handling like LSD etc.

Mmm like the look of this... My first thought was 'I can replicate that quite easily'.... Could spawn a few replicas.

This will of course cost way too much and if it is around £22,000 then is pointless as the Megane 250cup is the obvious chouce at that price point. Considering Evo's don't sell well anyway why on earth are they making even more expensive models with no more power than an esseesse?

If they want to bump up sales they need to produce a 'Light' version of the car for less money than the standard APE and give it 180bhp. Get rid of all the gadgets like B&M system, cheaper speakers with no sub, rubish seats with a single bucket, hard plastic dash, basic steering wheel, no AC or cruise control, only sport mode and any other corner they can cut cost on. Then just have the Koni's as an optional upgrade.

Could see that considerably upping sales. People just don't want an expensive/ slow for the price hot hatch.

Its probably not going to cost that much, if its an official model as it sounds it is going to be it means you don't have to buy dodgy kits and throw old bits away there is no waste of resources, if its anymore than APESS I'd be surprised.

Still if you can sell a DS3 for £23k Abarth will no doubt try their luck.  ;D

If you go on Abarth's "configurator" an "equivalently equipped" car comes to over £22k. And unlike the Esssssseeeeesssee you don't have parts to sell on Ebay as it's all done in the factory  :-\

Ah, I was just thinking it was like my GT which I paid near £30k but the run out editions which had fixed spec no options and limited colours were sold for ~£21k

As far as I can see it's basically an Esseesse with black wheels and different stickers.

All the other parts can be ordered for a std APE - assuming the telemetry kit is on its way, anyway.

The car industry is notorious for making "limited editions/specials/badge engineered models".

A better option in these lean times would have been a £15.5k stripped out "Cup" version with Esseesse power/torque, wheels and suspension.

Quick unoficial update...... rang my local dealer today to find out if they had any more info on it at the moment as i need to order my APE soon but was willing to hold out.

They said that there isnt a definate plan to sell in the UK yet...... and that they priced it (based on the kit) around £25,000. At the moment they still dont even know if it is going to be made at all.
    Awaiting delivery--APE, white, option wheels
