17" Abarth 500 SS Wheels on Punto Evo?
« on: March 08, 2016, 01:00:44 pm »
Hi guys!

Just a quick question to test your brains, we'll get to it in just a sec  ;D

I'm looking to buy a set of Esseesse wheels for my APE.
I currently have the standard wheels and wheel spacers fitted all round to my car and the tyres rub on the inner-wheel arches slightly whilst on full steering lock and whilst going over really big bumps/holes in the road.

The Esseesse optional alloys I've seen for a Punto are 18 inches in diameter and would rub a lot more with the spacers I have fitted.
But I've seen that the alloys on an Abarth 500 are slightly smaller at 17"

Being 17 inches, they'd be the same size as my current (standard) wheels.
But, I'm not sure if the measurements of the inner wheels are the same as mine or not.

I don't know if the brakes and calipers are any bigger on an APE than on an A500, nor do I know if the measurements around the hub and centres are the same as my wheels.

So this is where my 'quick' question comes in...
Would 17" A500 Esseesse wheels fit onto a Punto Evo? Has anybody tried it already?

Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated!! Cheers :)

*For reference, see below for the SS wheels and my standard wheels*

I couldn't find the sports car of my dreams, so I built it myself.

18 inch wheels shouldn't rub any differently as the tyre circumference and diameter is near identical, just get the right ones.

Of course you could also buy appropriately sized spacers :)

I think the Punto is 4x100 whereas the 500 4x98. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. Even then you can fit them with wobble bolts.

500 ones will poke out the arch 4mm more so you will be fine there. Will clear the calipers and discs with no issues too.

You will need spigot ring adaptors, to take the alloys from 58.1mm to 56.6mm. These can be bought for approx £10-20.

You will also want wobble bolts, due to the 500 wheels being 4x98 not 4x100. Again these can be bought cheap enough too.
