Peeling Decals
« on: March 02, 2013, 10:38:47 am »
My Punto Evo is now 2 weeks old and done 800 miles. When I washed it yesterday I noticed the one of the corners starting to lift on the stripe. Not serious but what will it be like after a year? How do I handle this with the dealer?

    Hi

I had problems with decals when i got mine. Straight back to the dealer and all sorted. Just out of interest - did you use a pressure washer?

I always tell the dealer whenever i have had it in NOT to use a pressure washer round the decals as when it first went in - they did - and some of the decals came up!

But dealer should be able to sort

    Cheers Remy

    Hi Remy,

I took it back today and the dealer is going to sort it out at their cost. I had seen on here previous problems with decals peeling so I have been extra careful  and only hand washed it. The annoying thing is that I only bought it for the red on white Abarth graphics. I bought a bike for my lad a couple of years ago done in the Yamaha M1 Abarth colours and the decals peeled on that too!!

    Best regards

    Fin

It would have made a great ornament in my conservatory but the wife wouldn't let me keep it.

They don't seem to stick well on the front bumper. I've replaced mine once and even being more careful have somehow managed to loose a bit, tempted to take 'em off but do like the look, so haven't done so yet.

The dealer is choosing to ignore me. I think one of the benefits is that they are not permanent. As for boy racers I have only had the car 3 weeks and they all hassle me anyway.

The annoying thing is that I only bought it for the red on white Abarth graphics.

Did you really buy the car just for the graphics?  :o
You could have saved about £16,830 and bought the stripes only from ebay.
