    Can't think why that would be, the SS kit for the APE was even mentioned in its original press release and it was known to be extending the car to 180bhp. what wasn't know was the exact contents of the kit (wheels, suspension bits) and the cost (still not known or at least annonced).

    Just to be a smart whatsit:

    A performance pack, enabling owners to upgrade their cars to esseesse (SS) specification, will be available at a later date. This boost power output to at least 180bhp.

    The Esse Esse kit for both cars was always in the pipeline but was never going to be available from launch.
    A rough idea without any solid figures was given to us as far back as the launch at Ballocco and that was in July.

    Can you clarify what you were told?  Every Abarth has an esseesse kit.

    I will say that nearly everything in that Autocar article is wrong.  They've read the bit about what's on the stand at Paris and rather than reading the rest of the release they've assumed that's what's in the esseesse kit.

    If you want the details, read this: https://www.abarthforum.co.uk/abarth-punto-evo/abarth-punto-evo-esseesse/

    I was told the SS kits would not be a factory fit and would not be available in the showrooms as two versions ie. SS and std.
    I am not refering to the dealer fit SS kits.

    "Fiat has launched hardcore Abarth Esseesse versions of the Punto Evo and 500C ahead of their official debuts at Paris later this month."
    "Both cars will go on sale in the UK shortly after their debuts at Paris on 30 September."

    Autocar = rubbish.

    They are available as dealer-fit kits only, and not as a factory option.
