APE boot lid Fault.
« on: March 30, 2011, 06:13:11 pm »
The only fault I've found with my car so far is the boot lid is mis-aligned so it will not close unless you push it right a few mm to the right. Rockingham will sort it as soon as I can get it there but I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

I went to my local Fiat garage today to see if they could quickly adjust it (I know them quite well there) but Fiat politics could mean that my warranty could be affected if they touch it. They did let me know why the boot feels more flimsy than my old Grande's one. Some Abarth panels are different to the Fiat ones so they are thinner and lighter.

FIAT GP, AGP and APE all have the same part number for the hatch :thumb:

Once shut, are the panel gaps even?

If it's just that it won't close without a push, try adjusting the rubber stops on the corners of the tailgate - turn them to move them in or out.

Edit: re-read your post, if you're having to move the tailgate sideways, then yes, it needs adjusting at the hinges.
