APE dashboard binnacle
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:34:23 pm »
Having gone for the cloth interior and not shelled out for leather trim, my APE will arrive with the 'crusty' dash binnacle over the instruments.

Not being a great fan of the 'Tarmac on the dash' feature, I wondered whether it is easily removed and replaced with a dealer parts department supply, "leather with red/yellow stitching" version.

Not having access to an APE at the moment, photos suggest it's a component that may be fixed just by screws. Optimistic, I know.

£22 sounds bit of a bargain  ??? Too good to be true!

I wondered whether it was a DIY job with "three or four hex screws".

Any excuse not to have the thing off the road when it arrives....(although it could be done at PDI I suppose).

It's 2 screws that hold the thing down.
