Have had mine a few months now and have done a good few hours behind the wheel.

Build Quality: You get the impression that everything is very well bolted together and the doors shut with a nice thud. It definitely feels like a quality product. The only negatives i've had so far is the rubber liners next to the door came away so I had to pop it back in and the washer hose popped off under the bonnet. Both silly little things so am not too bothered.

Handling: You get a fair bit of roll around corners but it sticks to the road well. The car will definitely benefit from the FSD's which I'll be testing shortly or a set of coilovers. The tyres do start screaming even when cornering at relatively low speeds but everything stays in check and haven't had any major issues of over/ understeer yet. Steering isn't the best, too artificial for my liking. You just have to trust the car will actually turn as you get no feedback from the wheels. Other than that the car rides well and is very well damped which is something I was really impressed with. You can really hammer it across broken surfaces which is something you certainly can't do in a Cooper S!

Performance: With a TMC it is definitely a quick car and will surprise a lot of other hot hatch's. The car pull's strongly in sport mode and is very responsive when overtaking on the motorway. Like has been mentioned before it's short gearing is troublesome especially in 1st which see's you needing the skills of a pickpocket to swap cogs in time without tickling the limiter. The TTC system works very well at dealing with wheelspin and does allow you to attack corners much faster. Breaking is poor as standard however with a few tweaks am sure the Brembo's will be superb (Pads, braided lines, Discs). They just seam to fade quite badly on the standard pads and don't bite as hard as they should under heavy breaking.

Economy: Drive like a nun on the motorway and you will get a very respectable 40+ mpg. Give it death around town and you will see around 18mpg. It's still a new engine so will loosen up with a few more miles on it but overall am impressed that it has the capacity to deliver good mpg if driven in a sensible manner.

Entertainment: The blue & Me system is very impressive as is the standard audio equipment. Steering wheel controls are also very good. I use a sony phone and find the bluetooth outstanding. County be happier. Didn't bother buying the ipod converter instead just using a usb stick which has been great. Give the system a 9/10 overall.

Overall: It's a lot of money for what it is, however it does feel like a quality item and you get lots of luxuries and toys inside. It would have been nice if they had moved the fuse box when converting the dash to right hand drive as the glove box is pitiful. Other than that interior storage space is acceptable. As standard you will be shown a clean pair of heels by most other hot hatches on the market these days however once tuned I'm sure it will prove to be an absolute animal. A very rare and unique car that set's you apart from the crowd.

Of all the hot hatches i've driven i'd give it 7/10.

Question is: what needs to be done to get the car up to 220bhp or there abouts, and how much would it cost?

Anyone on the forum modified beyond a TMC yet?

Thanks again for the review. You guys keep saying it's a lot of money, but the examples i'm looking at are £11,990 which seems good value to me. Maybe in a few months i can get one for £10,000 which would be even better!

It perhaps feels like a lot of money to me as I'm used to buying Fiats at large discount and I couldn't get much off this.

Its good value at the price you are quoting, buy one, stop talking about it, start experiencing it :)

The AGp looks lower and wider  :thumb: The APe, looks taller and skinnier!!

Â£17.5k new is WAY to much for what it is, but at £10 - £11k a much better propostion, but who has them at that price?!!
