Really hope someone can help.

My Abarth Punto Evo has developed a strange fault... when braking it displays the "check running lights" message. Now that's odd because I've checked the running lights and they were fine. It wasn't showing the message every time I brake so I assumed a loose bulb or fuse. After reseating the bulbs the message went away for a few days but when it returned one of the little bulbs in the head light had blown (not the running light). I replaced this and again the message didn't appear at first. However after a day or so I had the check running lights message again.

The weird part is all lights are fine!

Today knowing that the bulbs are fine I decided to check fuses but they are all ok.

You've probably already noticed that this is happening only when I brake. I have also checked the brake lights and they are working.

Anyone got any ideas what else I can check/do to resolved this issue?
Is it possible to disable the system that checks the lights?

Think I might have resolved it :-D

Not had the warning message since disconnecting and reconnecting the passenger rear light.

I suggest changing both rear bulbs with brand new ones, or maybe a trip to the auto electrician as I am sure you will not be able to disable the light checker.

Hello guys. I have the same problem like Tim. "CHECK RUNNING LIGHTS" when breaking. I changed all bulbs with Brand new. Can anyone help? How did Tim solve the problem? Thanks
