Multiair Engine restrictions?
« on: April 03, 2011, 09:55:06 pm »
Had the car a week now and have done 900 miles, not yet pushed it too much but had a go today.

Seems that from a pretty rapid launch the car is cutting the power, there are no traction control flashes, car cuts power at about 5k in first and just before 6k in second, 3rd pulls cleanly and strongly with no restraint.

The engine response is pretty impressive, there is certainly some pace in the car, feels quicker than the numbers on paper suggest, the torque doesn't seem to tail off until this limiter which is a bit of a pain as it seems to cut in early particularly 1st, could it just need a few more miles, thought I'd ask of others experience though.

1st gear is very short, it scrabbles for grip if you feed to much power in all at once.
My way around it is  to grap second almost straight away getting to third as quick as possible where the car starts to do all the work.
My evo is a different car with 5k miles on sounds better and is definately quicker, Bev commeted yesterday have much faster it felt. I would still like just a tad more power another 20bhp would do me, lets not be greedy ;D
