Title: My Abarth Punto Evo Update
Post by: Remy on July 22, 2010, 09:16:31 pm
Hi All

Just a quick update. Had a phonecall from the dealer - my car arrives in the country 2nd week of August and then needs to be delivered to the dealer. Assures me should be OK for 1st Sept! Was originally scheduled for end of Sept!

I went on the www.Abarth.it website as the UK version has not had the car configurator updated to the Evo. Anyway, as i can't save the picture of what ir's like, go on the website - showroom and car configurator.

Mine is going to be in White, with the scorpion alloys, red stickers and the skydome sunroof. Have also got climate, auto windscreen wipers and electro chromatic rear view mirror. If you put that lot in it will give you an idea of what it's gonna look like.

Tell me what you think - would be interested to know.

Bauer- Millett (Manchester) - local dealer - has just got one in the showroom - in campovolo grey. Am gonna have a look on Saturday.

Will let you know how i get on

Cheers Mark

That will be a smashing car!

I wish my AGP had a sunroof - it's the only thing I'd change :)

They would not knock anything off the car at all. I had a 1.2 16v Punto Sporting i was part exing 52 Reg. Booked in at £1300. Gave me £1500 but i then said whats your best price and they uped it to £2k. That was Mid June. So not bad i think. In total £16285 after £2k part ex  :thumb:

Re Does this help..?

Thanks for that - appreciate it - yep thats exactly how it is going to look.

Can't wait ;D

I am going to have a look at the Grey one in Bauer Millett now- it's in the showroom so can't test drive. However, the salesman who i had my dealings with dd say he would take me out in it when he is back off holiday in a week! So will be bobbing down again and hopefully behind the wheel.

i will keep everyone posted on progress and obviously post some photos when i have my own APE in my hands!

How many weeks to go to September? - i'm not counting - HONEST!

Cheers Mark

Looks awesome! How much difference is the new Evo compaired with the AGP SS? I know the BPH is nearly the same, however does the new model have all the other little upgrades? Still looks awesome..... Enjoy

My honest opinion is that the power between the G.P. SS and the N.P. multiair is about the same :thumb:

Hi All

Went to see the Punto Abarth Evo in Bauer-Millett in Manchester. It's in the campovolo grey. had the stripes, climate control and corse sabelt seats. Looked abs stunnin. However, the standard seats type were srill in the rear - like a mesh on the seat itself. Looked really nice. Thought the instrument panel etc was great. Couldn't have a drive as it was in the showroom  :'(, but was told that a couple more are on the way over, one in each colour. The Red will have white stripes and white mirrors - dunno about that!

I have been told that mine is due in country 9/8/2010 and will be at the dealer a couple of weeks later - so looks ok for 1/9/2010 delivery!

Will keep you informed.

One of the Evos on the Abarth stand at Silverstone was red with white.

Looked OK, but I preferred the idea of red with black stripes myself.

The mesh effect on the standard seats is quite cool, very reminiscent of the 'fish-net stockings' on the Strada Abarth head restraints.

You car is just passing Padstow up to the Bristol Channel on GRANDE SCANDINAVIA and will dock late tonight early in the morning. If you check your status with your dealer it should be a Status 35 and in the next couple of days become Status 40.

Here is the link for the track http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?mmsi=247018700&centerx=-5.488887&centery=50.58392&zoom=10&type_color=7

If it is not on this ship then the next one is GRANDE ELLADE which is currently about to load up in SALERNO with some FGA products ready to off load at Portbury on Saturday 14th.

Hi All

Another quick update.

i have spoken to Luke at Bauer Millett (Manchester) and it is due in the country 18/8/10. He reckons that it takes 10 days to get to the dealer  -so it' looking like it may not be OK for 1 Sept.

I have decided to have an Alarm fitted - more for piece of mind - at £275.

Will let you know nearer to the time. I hope everything will be Ok for 1 Sept!  :)

Cheers Mark

Hi All

another update  -Just had the Alarm fitted - it's at the dealer in the body shop.

Finally got insurance sorted for it - not on the ABI Site apparently! Dealer couldn't even find it for the 7 day free insurance that you can get on the Alfa Romeo Site!

Anyway sorted now - waiting for the insurance docs so i can take the cert down to get it registered!

Rollo on 1/9

Cheers Mark

A dealer insurance policy doesn't have to list each car insured.
It will only say any car owned by the company.
