One of the Fog lights has come on.
« on: October 27, 2011, 10:03:52 pm »
I know Italian cars were renowned for having electrical problems, however, I am rather supprised to get the problem I have now.

When I switch my headlights on my left hand fog lights has started switching itself on.   I know the car is brimming with various gadgets but I certainly cannot find a "Switch one fog light on" switch.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is your left hand indicator on or your steering wheel turning to the left?
Could well be the cornering lights.

I will have to take it back to the dealer, it is not just when the car is turning.   I have found a way to turn it off, believe it or not it switches off when I put the car in reverse, only to switch back on when I go into neutral or any other gear.

Thanks John and Sandys, I feel stupid now, my car has a feature that I didn't know about.

I pulled up outside of my house last night facing a wall with the headlights on and turned the steering wheel and watched as each fog light switched on.   I must have had the wheel turned when I have spotted the fog lights being reflected when I have sat behing cars at the traffic lights and when I have pulled up and looked at them.   The fog lights are not one when I am driving along at any speed.

I knew that Corsa's had this feature I hadn't realised it was on the APE
