PH - APE Roadtest published
« on: August 06, 2010, 01:26:53 pm »
For any of you that may be interested, the Pistonheads folks have a favourable roadtest of the APE up today, even lightly comparing it to the Clio RenaultSport as some of us have on here previously.

Not sure if we're allowed to link externally, but I'm sure most of you know where to find it...  :thumb:

Are those torque and 0-60 figures correct? They're not as high as i would have expected, my A500 probably has a similar torque figure with the TMC box, and i reckon a 0-60 time of 6.5

What are the SS figures for the APE?

The comments from PH members is pretty binary, many writing the APE off, others the entire Punto 'halo' model concept.  A hardy few defending it as a worthy option for lower budgets.

Never mind, if everyone liked 'em I'd probably not have ended up with mine  8)

Doesn't really seem to be any sort of improvement over the AGP apart from the posible extra 5bhp with the SS version. With the SS kit and the TMC tuning box fitted on my AGP I'm pulling 207bhp and 260lbs torque and combine that with the way they have made the APE look very plasic like at the front and that the GPA is 3rd place in the top 50 future classic cars http://cars.uk.msn.com/features/photos.aspx?cp-documentid=154175408&page=3 I think I'll definately be sticking with my GPA SS  :thumb:
