Title: Torque Steer
Post by: Dusty_viper on August 23, 2011, 03:40:42 pm
Hi everyone,

I just had a quick question, does your APE have torque steer?

The reason I ask is because the first APE I test drove had quite a bit of torque steer, however, mine doesn't.

I mean I know that torque Steer isn't necessarily a good thing but I quite like the whole fighting with the steering wheel, makes it have a bit of character! lol :)

Just curious whether people have torque steer on their APE's in the first couple of gears.

Thanks a lot.

I can get torque steer but genrally only on a wet road doesnt normally do it on a dry road unless im driving it stupidly hard.

Could be caused by many, many things...  Could just be down to the demo car having poorly aligned tracking?

If you were talking about an AGP then I'd say torque steer is a perfectly normal thing! :D

None worth mention, very well behaved car, chassis seems to handle its power cleanly though unlike most my motor is stock no tuning as yet, it may show itself with more torque or poor geom settings.

I do get it if I slam my foot down to the floor suddenly in second or third.  Otherwise it's very docile.

Mine may be because of the tracking as I know it's all over the place

It was a demo car, might have had worn tyres or tracking out then. I was just curious if other people had any! I kinda want some now! lol

Haven't noticed on my APE. TTC should help to eliminate it.

You must have a really heavy right foot

mild torque steer for me only occurs in higher gears and sport mode + damp/wet road- i.e. when overtaking - as turbo and hence torque, is limited in lower gears. However, still better behaved than other hot turbos I've owned.

Torque steer pulling away in first then second gear, with high revs torque steer is none existent.
