Won`t Start
« on: February 03, 2016, 05:52:43 pm »
Has anybody had any issues with not starting. The vehicle started OK,I drove approximately 1/2 mile, turned the engine off and when I got back in the car I was greeted with a CODE fault emblem in the dash display followed by fuel cut off not available then start/stop not available and then check power steering with a large red steering wheel. The engine would not turn over, then the climate control fan started blowing at max and the outside temp gauge was indicating -40.RAC couldn`t sort it and the garage they`ve taken it to say that they the car computer isn`t communicating. Not sure whats going on.So some help would be appreciated. The cars warranty has just expired,6 weeks ago so FIAT will wash their hands.

Has your battery failed? So many gremlins in one go might be due to a cell failing and the voltage being low. Only a guess.

Certainly your battery and it's connections should be your first port of call :thumb:

It would shock you what a failed battery can do.

Have it voltage and drop tested.

Punt now sorted. Broken wiring to the slewing sensor connector in the centre tunnel. Probably damaged at manufacture. Good old Rockingham Cars in Corby. ;D :thumb:
