If you're lucky enough to meet AF's very strict requirements for a 'competitive' quote then you're laughing...
If on the other hand you don't meet their requirements, you get a rather comical quote... That's over 3 times more than the usual main-steam companies can offer....
£856 (Elephant) vs £2837.30 (Adrian Flux) :o
This is of course using their online quoting system, but I doubt talking to a real person will make much of a difference

Thought I would try to see how much AF would want to insure my wife (40 next birthday) on our family truck (Honda CRV - hardly a sports car)
Not sure the 20mins or so filling in the online quote thing was quite worth the laugh I got when the 'quote' came back, almost but not quite.
I esp liked the bit where I tell you the best quote received so far, and your system then takes two hours to email me back with something almost double that figure!!
So, Admiral at half the amount it is......
Guess what I wont be doing with 20 mins of my life when the cover is up on my Abarth in September?!

Is that a £2000.00 forum discount then ;D

Was unfortunately quoted £6000 compared to £1500 from elephant, so decided to go with elephant.
No problems with the service at all though, just a bit expensive :)
-
SIX GRAND :o
-
Just a tad too expensive  to be fair I also got a silly quote it was not as much :-X

Try getting AA to quote, they're horrendous. I get so much mail from them begging to insure various cars but they seem to want to charge double everyone else.
Shop around every year.

I like using the meerkats, simples :thumb:
-
Is it because you get a free cuddly toy dan?
-
Nothing wrong with a cuddly toy!
-

In defence of Adrian Flux, I called them, they were polite and efficient and the quote was tas good as any (£350 ish with all the mods and a few points).
I try the meerkat way and use it narrow the field down. I then phone for quotes and a haggle.
Don't know where you lot are going wrong but there's something amiss.
-
Haggle? did you offer him a shekel?
-
i haven't ordered one yet but am considering it if i cant get some more hours at work (part time worker "full time" student atm) £4600 with AF, £1200 with Direct Line

Opposite way round for me, 9yrs no claims 26 Years old, they were by far the cheapest, was a little bit disappointed when I moved out of Liverpool not a far nicer area also moved the car from the drive to the garage and it made no difference to the policy what so ever??? Can't win em all, paying 700ish quid ATM
