Double din - what to choose and costs?
« on: July 07, 2017, 06:29:36 pm »
Hi All,

After a double din unit, to modernise the interior and to give me some features that I had on previous cars.

First question - I have seen the kit you need around £160? What head units are everyone using? I am after one with android auto so I can use Google maps and Spotify.

Also, how much roughly are people paying to get these fitted? I am pretty poor when it comes to this sort of thing and cutting the air con pipe sounds a bit iffy to me.

Thanks on advance!

I had it done. They/You need to cut the 2 outlets and glue a new part on to change from topvents to sidevents. He showed me the parts that came out. Quite some work.

Few weeks back I had the original radio replaced with the Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB. It offers all, DAB+, Android Auto, Carplay, Bluetooth Audio, Spotify etc etc.

I am also looking at options for a Double Din. The Pioneer  SPH-DA230DAB is about £450 in the UK I did a very quick search. Someone recommended this

    http://www.dynavin.com/products/n6_dc.php

This actual model is suggested for Fiat cars, there are other models in the range that I think would look better and (you do not mention it) have sat nav built in.

Fitting costs I recon depend where you live  ;D

Navigation can be done with Apple Maps or Google Map (Android) No need for build in Navigation. ;)
