Aaaaaaaargh
« on: December 10, 2011, 10:34:54 am »
Got out of the car with the iPhone still attached and trashed my connector - it had been falling apart for a bit but it's done 2 years I guess with isn't too bad for a little bit of electronic kit that's continually used. Now stuck with Five Live until I fork out for a new one - will develop an encylopedic knowledge of the general girly gossip and hysterical handbagging that is the premier league again. Usually leads to the question "if you hate football so much why do you know so much about it?" - well the alternative is radio 4 and European politics is actually worse . . .  or Chris Moyles which is likely to lead to me gouging out my own eardrums.

Anyhow anyone know who's selling them at a decent price? Please save me  :o

Thanks - I'll probably fork out for a new one as they only have a limited life span, but my finances are a little wiped by Xmas and I've realised that the car sounds really cool with the radio off :) so next month.

No it's the adaptor that you need to use in older cars for iPhones. It pulled right apart and you can see where one of the connections has come loose.

I think it might be possible to repair it, but I have absolutely no idea where my soldering iron is and it seems a bit pointless to buy a new one and then find it doesn't work.

Actually now i think of it I'm going to the folks in a couple of weeks so I could use my dad's - better still I could be a useless girly as I'm betting his soldering skills are way better than mine. Last time I did any soldering I think I was repairing some loose wiring in an Austin allegro.

Sadly despite my truly excellent soldering skills (I got my dad to do it - hell I think I last used one in the 1980s  ) my iPhone adaptor is nailed to its perch. Chris was a sweetie and brought me a new one which was great of him.

I feel that the sisterhood may have something to say about the whole - I trashed my adaptor by being a ditz and not unplugging it and leaving the car with my phone in my handbag and then found some men to help me out with it - thing.

I think I'll go put some makeup on so the boys will like me. . .
