I know this thread is from a while back but.....

Do you guys know of any other of the TomTom's which will integrate into the dash with the 68R cradle, I'm hearing that the TomTom Go 500 is better as it has bigger screen, lifetime traffic and maps updates etc.

Any ideas?

You won't get any of that unless you buy the Blue&Me TomTom2 unit..

A normal Go 500 might fit the cradle and charge but you won't have any of the media integration (controlling MP3 playback), directions on the dash, voice through the speakers etc...

If you look at Tom Tom's own website you will see that the Blue and Me Tom Tom 2 is specific to FIAT, Alfa Romeo and Abarth. Even if any of the mainstream Tom Tom sat navs will actually fit into the Tom Tom 2 cradle, I don't think that the electrical connections will match up. I've got a Tom Tom XXL with a 5" screen which I fit to my Evo using Tom Tom's air vent mounting kit. It has one small connector at the bottom for power- nothing like what's on the Tom Tom 2. I don't use sat nav on a regular basis and the high cost of a Tom Tom 2 unit has put me off buying one so far. OK, so I've got a trailing wire and the vent mounting is a little bit flimsy but it does the job of getting me from A to B,it doesn't fall off very often, and it was a lot cheaper than the "official " item.
