Had the same problem on my AGP took it back to Research and they stuck it on the laptop and sorted it in about 20 mins ...top blokes  :thumb:
How long ago did you get the language changed please?
I ask this because Abarth have detailed this as an issue with a few cars and they are currently putting together a software fix. If you have had the same problem then I would assume a fix has been supplied very recently and may now be available?
As far as I remember would have been around june as I had not had the car long
Interesting, thanks.
And you are sure your problem was the same as mine; i.e. the actual on-screen B&M language (not the spoken language) displays text in Italian?
Yes exactly that ,the spoken language was English but the display was Italian
Do you know how they resolved the issue please?
I suspect your system may have had an earlier software installed than the latest 5.4?

If this is the case, they likely applied the new 5.4 update which also changed the language to English. My system already had 5.4 installed and will not allow me to re-apply the update to change the language.

Shouldn't your dealer be sorting this out Rich and offering a loan car whilst they get to the bottom of it? It's hardly a good advert for the brand to simply say it's a fault and the factory are working on it. Pretty poor effort I'd say  to release a not inexpensive brand new car to a customer like this :thumbd: Seems like they should reload version 5.3 if the language worked on that.

PS Rich, you need to update your sig to include "wonky B&M option".

Who runs the B&M support desk at your dealer - Moss and Roy? (In a strong Irish accent) "Hello, IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? Oh.... you have. How about disconnecting the battery?"  ;D

Any idea what they meant by 'wiped' please; did they have a setting where they could remove the software which then allowed them to re-install the correct version of 5.4?

Maybe it's best if I just gove them a call.

Quoting of doom cleaned here too

I have just come back from a long weekend away with my family in Italy. I had a choice of small cars to hire and chose the Fiat 500 because I know the controls well. Guess what...

Yep, you've likely guessed it. The Blue&Me system's voice recognition was in Italian but the onscreen text was in English! Exactly the opposite of my A500. ???

I initially thought this might be due to the hire market being implemented mostly by the English; however if this was the case why is the voice recognition in Italian. Very bizarre! :o

guys there is a download available for this problem, it is only available through the teseo site at dealerships,
they need to look up recall campaign 5344 and run through service news 55.44.08 of 07/11/08,
this will take them to the correct download
the file is Bonifica C1_199Small2_Europa.zip (european nations except turkey)
hope this sorts out your problems

assetto tech, thanks for the heads up,

when fiat or rockingham can be arsed to call me to sort this problem out, then i will tell them this info. I have had this problem from new (over five months ) , and i have lost patience several time's!

if what you say is correct, then why does fiat or rockingham not know how to fix this ?

the car has been back three times, with no joy. plus fiat have had a tech case running 3 times also.

    i just don't get it.

product's great, dealer and fiat are sh*t!

first and last, always the way, it's not the products fault, it's the back up that let's the rest down

ps, it's in the hands of my finance company

fitting a new convergence unit (brain) probably wont sort it,
i fitted a new con unit on sat for a different fault than this and still had to change the display language and voice language
