Tried to find some help on this but no luck, ??? So here's my question. My A500 is 2 days old, dealer told me "Yeah your I pod will work fine" So I plug my Ipod into the USB and ALL I get is "OK to disconnect" on the Ipod screen, nothing on the dash. My Ipod is an 80g classic, formatted for PC (not Mac) and contains Itunes dowwnloads and PC transferred cd's. Am I doing something wrong/not doing the right thing??? Any ideas guys :thumb:

    Not sure on the classics but the newer generation ipods work fine.

    I have tried...

    Ipod touch 1st Gen
    Iphone 4
    Ipod Nano 4th Gen
    Ipod Nano 5th Gen

    Hi, I've tried asking this in other places but maybe here is the correct location. Question is, I cannot get my IPod classic 80g to work in my 4 week old A500. All the IPod does is show the "OK to disconnect" screen, and wont play anything :thumbd:

    Do I need the dongle thing or not???

    Help ;D

    Not really, so I've merged it with your previous thread.  If people haven't answered, it might be because they can't help.

    Try referring to this thread:

    ...which details the current latest version of Blue&Me.  Check your chassis number with that shown in the first post.  That will tell you if you need the dongle or not.

    Hi Grajo

    Not sure if you've got this solved yet, but I'm using an 80Gb iPod Classic in my 18mth old AGP and I do need the dongle.

    As an aside, the Blue&Me system will still ONLY play .mp3 or .wav from my iPod (even with the dongle), so if your iPod is full of AAC, FLAC, m4a etc (based on how you rip to iTunes) it will still ignore ALL of these tracks and every Playlist that features these tracks.  I also discovered that (sadly) once connected to the USB port there is no way of manually operating the iPod itself to play back tracks you want to hear, you have to control it via the steering wheel (presumably a safety initiative), but damned frustrating when you have a co-pilot with the music-listening equivalent of ADHD as I had last week  ::)

    Hiya hope you're enjoying the new car
    I've used a 30gb classic in my Three week old A 500 I just plugged the iPod lead into the USB port bu t as already said all the tracks have to be mp3 and it is a bit fiddly to use from the wheel controls.
    Ive no started using a USB stick which I find easier to find the music I want to play quicker but obviously much smaller (4gb)

    Hi jazzdevil, think I've got it sorted now, a lot of playing around with MediaPlayer, but it seems to play everything I've got on my IPod.
    Agreed it's only controllable thru the wheel ::) But hey, it's my car, I'm driving, live with it :thumb: :thumb:
