Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get the Tom Tom 2 Live Sat Nav from? I was thinking of purchasing one if i could get a new one at a reasonable price. My car is 63 plate if that helps as ive read some people talking about compatibility issues.

Any help would be appreciated :)

It seems that it is a bit of a minefield as I've been looking.

The TomTom2 unit works with only certain body computers, but there does not appear to be a list of which ones.

If you want the Abarth branded TomTom then you'll need to order from Italian ebay and get it shipped to the UK, expect to pay £350+

Some parts departments can special order the Abarth branded unit, some say it can't be done.

The standard TomTom2 device will work with the car and should pair with a Supersport, but you won't have all of the integrated features that the Abarth unit has.

Would this not have all of the features listed? if not any ideas what it would have?

Sorry for all of the questions just want to make sure i get value for money :)

How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? And is there a website you could refer me too?

Tried the Abarth branded model which was recommended because of it pairing up with the car enabling manipulation of the settings by the controls on the steering wheel but the screen was so small (for my eyesight :thumbd:) I ended up going back to the Blue&Me TomTom.

The other thing I didn't like about the Abarth branded satnav was the flimsy mounting bracket. The unbranded one is much chunkier. :thumb:

So if you want a bigger screen go for the unbranded.  :thumb:

If you have keen eyesight and want to be able to adjust your Satnav by the Steering Wheel controls go for the Abarth branded. :thumb:

And you've probably already guessed that this is the one that I was sold.  :thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd:

Once you've got the screen fired up a 1/3 of the screen is used up with the journey info so that leaves just 2/3 of the screen (about the size of a matchbox) for the map which is totally inadequate. So I swapped it for the standard Blue&Me. Would have definitely got the other one if I had been given the opportunity. ::)

Thanks AMG for that  :thumb: - I never knew that Abarth had manufactured 2 branded Satnavs. I spent quite a bit of time looking for pictures and spec but I did not manage to find the larger screen unit that you have.

Typical Abarth to not cover these items clearly on their website and in their literature! :banghead:

It's not an official part in the UK.

Some parts departments think its a mythical item that doesn't exist, some think it doesn't work.

Even Paul, the new Abarth UK "Brand Responsible" bod doesn't think they work or exist, I know as I asked him :)

You can get them from EBay.it for about £300 if it floats your boat ;D

Got mine from Thames off the shelf, it's brill, I use it every day and it's a timesaver having the traffic on it, it's bailed me out loads from having to sit in it. I've had mine since may last year, I dunno why some dealers have their head up themselves, it wasn't a special item.

Don't buy it unless you can pair it up.  I bought my Blue and Me TomTom when I bought my Ape 3 years ago from Lipscomb.  We had several attempts to pair it up we the car, in the end I decided I would drive home and try again (I just wanted to get in my new car and drive it).  After several more attempts I decided to drive the 60 miles back to Lipscomb to get my money back.  The guys on the counter refused to give my money back suggesting there were parts missing, whilst I knew I had everything in the box it came with, they flatly refused.  So I paid £300 for a standard TomTom.  I am afraid Lipscomb lost a customer as well.
