HELP - Blue&me now Italian!
« on: March 22, 2015, 11:58:12 am »
After following the Blue&me update process 'TO THE LETTER' I now get an Italian voice.
I have tried to install the English language application using:-
(http://www.blueandme.net/resources/download/APPLICATIVI/Cambio_Lingua/Page/Html_Lingue/index_en.html)
but all I get is an 'Error 10' message.  I don't know if I'm downloading it wrong as the instructions are not all that clear.
Can anyone help?

Ii phoned Abarth Customer Services and explained thevproblem.  Twenty four hours later they phoned back.  I explained the process I had gone through in my attempt to update the B&M.
I was told I'd not done anything wrong, just that the B&M update 'had not taken'.  The only option I have is to return the car to the dealer (Platts) for them to update using their files.
As I live 40 miles away I'll wait until the service is due in April and then get Platts to do the necessary.
The moral of this story; don't update your B&M unless you need to.  I'll know for next time...

I have the same problem. My 2012 model was speaking French so I thought I'd update the language files. It didn't work, so I figured I'd update Blue&Me to the latest version. It now speaks Italian instead of French and I still can't get it to speak English.

Blue&Me is a really poor system for sure.

Trying another USB stick right now. It's been stuck at "Updating" for a while now when trying to update the language files. At least that's better than "USB Error 10". Let's see what happens.

After giving my failed update a deal of thought, and reluctance to return to the dealer for them to update (at £100 per hour!) I decided to try the update file again.
When the USB stick was inserted and the  ignition switched on, eventually 'updating' was displayed on the dash and she said 'updating' in Italian!  After a few moments the display reverted to normal, and at this point, in the previous attempt, i turned off the ignition and removed the USB stick.  However, on this attempt i left the USB stick in place.  After a few moments i noticed the activity light on the USB stick was flashing so i waited...  After a minute or so the word 'Installing' was displayed on the dash, and after another minute or so the word complete was displayed.  Things were looking good!  I then waited another minute or so and nothing happened so I turned off the ignition and removed the USB stick.  I then tested the system and lo and behold - she is  ow speaking English!
The moral of the story is to wait; just because the dash display reverts to normal during the updating process doesn't mean it has finished!

It did this to me too! The display went to normal and after a while it said "installing" again. Then I waited for another 15 minutes and nothing happened so I turned off. Maybe I should just leave it for an hour or so. I'll try another older USB stick too.

Did you install the full B&M suite or just the language pack?

When the voice first went To Italian I tried to install the (Italian) language pack to correct, but this was unsuccessful.
After this I went back to the original B&M update file that was still on my PC, and unzipped it onto a 'clean' USB stick.
After tha dash display said 'Updating' and then went to 'normal' it was about five minutes until 'installing'  was displayed on the dash.  Then it was another (no mere than) five minutes before 'Update Successful' was displayed.
It should't take 'an hour or so' to update.
