The network reset seems to have worked - for now at least B&M seems to be communicating again. I just hope it doesn't become a regular task.

    All other poor Iphone sufferers...
    I apologise to everyone else in advance. You are probably completely sick of hearing about this.
    I bought my new car a couple of weeks ago (chassis no is below the level of the upgrade to B&M), I also bought one of the adaptors for my 3GS iphone. They worked perfectly with B&M until Monday when apple uploaded IOS4 to it.
    It started playing for a few seconds then cut to radio, advice from the very helpful Paula (go into General - press reset etc) worked once, but now even that won't work.
    Plays perfectly from a memory stick, but that doesn't contain any music I have downloaded from itunes as it is a different format.
    I have just tried to upload the 5.5 upgrade, but it comes up with first error 10, then error 20.
    Apple were absolutely no help whatsoever (typically)
    Any suggestions?

    Oddly the error 10 message normally means 'I have this version already'

    Nick. The only time I've managed to replicate that issues was when I had movies/videos synod from iTunes on my idevice.

    I could replicate the problem on a 3GS running ios 4.0 and an iPhone 4.

    To fix it I restored the phone to 4.0 using iTunes. Set up as a new phone and only sync music.

    5.5 has resolved the issue for me on all my devices, might be worth a try tho?

    bad news guys....

    all of a sudden this afternoon, having had my iphone plugged in and playing from the playlist it suddenly cut out and returned to playing what was in the CD.

    yet the iphone shows as charging and if I press the phone button I can go back to the blue&me media and try again, about 1-2 mins later and same thing.

    need to test further, soft reset phone, check connections etc etc

    could be that Rory is rather hot in this 31c heat and just playing up ::)


    All the i-phone problems moved to the correct topic- admin

    Does anyone know if there is a blue and me update for agp? Only iphone 4 will not sink over my contacts  :'(

    ok must have been a lose connection into iphone as tonight it played non stop all the way home, so think its a false alarm or Rory was suffering from heat exhaustion in the midday sun  :whistle:

    See my earlier post, I did the update yesterday and posted my results.
    (AGP was updated, it just took allot of reboots of B&M (automatic), do not remove the USB, wait for the update complete message)

    thanks for the suggestion, I will have a go.
    It does seem to me that Apple are once again insisting that you will use "their" phone only in the manner they approve.
    Their world domination attempt to convert everyone to Mac's just irritates me.
    Mine is already running version 4.0 on the phone, and I assume the fact that I get an error 10 when I try the 5.5 update on my car means that I already have that.
    I do however have videos etc synced on it, so that is an avenue worth eliminating.

    Hi
    Had a call from FIAT UK today.
    The official FIAT line with regard to iphones etc is that they no longer work with B & M following the latest apple upgrade - IOS4. This apparently has come from their technical people.
    Fiat also have no plans to upgrade the software at this time to fix the issues.
    I know that some of you have managed to make it work, but mine refuses.
    Can't say I am happy about it... :thumbd:

    i have an iphone 4 now and it synced no probs, plus the music all works fine.

    couple of questions, have you got videos on ur phone? if so take them off, people have mentioned they cause problems, also do a hard soft reset on phone, you can do this by holding the power button and home button at same time and wait till the phone screen goes black and white apple appears and then release and it will boot up. also try deleting user data on B&M and repair phone.

    how old is your car? it may need the 5.5 software.

    maybe John would be best answering the official fiat line on this..

    I cannot for one minute believe that fiat would not be looking into fixing any issues with iphones and B&M,

    B&M is used (as far as im aware) in Alfas, Abarths, Fiats.. thats allot of cars! also the iPhone is one of the biggest selling handsets, many manufacturers are looking to incorporate iphones features, BMW have just announced the continued support with iPod out connectivity (google it ;) )...


    my iPhone 3GS (iOS 4.0) and my iPhone 4 work flawlessly with B&M 5.5 on my AGP. None of the issues mentioned on this forum I am able to replicate...

    contacts not syncing - mine are, they sync from 2x Exchange accounts to my iDevice then through bluetooth to B&M
    Audio playing - my main issue that I could find was fixed in B&M 5.5
    Navigon not playing audio through the speakers - mine does, when set to 'Media Player' and playing items from ipod.app

    It might be worth the people with issues removing the user pairings from B&M (cant remember the exact setting, but its in the B&M menu on the car), restoring the phone with iOS 4.0, setting up as a new phone (rather then a backup) and trying again...
