I'm not sure that you can use the iPhone with B&M for the music files though, only as a phone.  Just something to check if thats what you're intending to do. I thought I read somewhere that the ipod touch isn't compatible either.....

I thought I saw something that you could use them as a phone only. B&M Handbook does state touch ipods are not compatible.

Can someone let us know how the 3G S has been with their car? My ipod has reached a battery life of 40 minutes so I was looking to get a touch but I could be tempted with the phone if it works ok with the B&M.

Get an iPhone they are so good, my original 3g works fine with blue and me just not message reader but I never get texts anyway.

can you play tunes from your iphone?

my 3gs works fine , only as a phone though.. no messages read out, although it recognises the contacts, the only pain is needing to manually connect the phone each time, unless any one knows a workround, i'm wary of leaving bluetooth on as it eats the battery

The other thing I have found is that all of the contacts are surname first then first name so if you want to do voice dialing you have to speak the name in reverse which is a bit of a pain

Apparently the new update of the software solves this....

    How do you mean?

Mine still allows me to voice dial but will not read out text messages.  And I would imagine that when used with the B&M adapter you would be able to play your music. Someone else may be able to confirm this though.......

I have not upgraded to 5.4 software on B&M though.

I'm kinda permanently wedded to my iPhone 3GS - I think I possibly prefer it to the husband

Not being able to use it with the Abarth might be a reason to cancel it to be honest. Don't care about using the phone handsfree - it's the music I want to play and it's all iTunes or podcasts or my old CDs ripped in iTunes.

    Paula,

Then just buy the B&M adapter and you can play everything that is on your iPhone.

I've just checked the fiat website and it says that it is compatible

Would be good if it does - I've just heard my car is in the country so I better do a bit of an investigate.

I was wondering if anyone has found a way of using the 3gs to play music without spending £80 or so on the adaptor. I was talking to someone at Paintshield today however, who is going to email me info on how to easily convert music to mp3 (in itunes) which can then be transferred to 3gs and then should play via blue and me. Fingers crossed.

There's several free apps on the web that can do this or for approx $30, Tuneclone does the job.
