Can I ask a question too, please?  I don't think (?) its been asked.... this new dongle jobbie, is it possible to plug in my iPhone 3gs into B&M and use it for tunes & as a telephone at the same time?  ie will it cut out, etc if a call is recieved/made?  If at can do that, I'm definately getting one too!

I believe that it does allow the phone to be used in both modes at the same time this could go some way to explain the cost, this adapter would seem to have some funky electrics in it.Oh and should go without saying it is for both the Abarths.

    OK,

So I put the 5.4 FW on last night - the FW went on very easily but somehow I lost the English language files - after trying a couple of times I managed to completely brick the B&M and nothing worked at all :(

I did a battery reset, crossed my fingers and tried again with a language update - that got the B&M working again but it still had the message 'no english' - so then I loaded the NL language files, which went fine and then I reloaded the English files, which strangely went OK too!  So then I had a fully working 5.4 - yay!

Ive been to Fiat today and got myself one of the adaptors - and wooooooooooo!  At last, Fait youve done it, just what the functionality should have been in the first place :)

Im a bit miffed at having to pay 90quid for the privelege but at least I can finally use my Ipod properly now :)

Good news, the 5.4 does have all the language files but I wonder if a car has its country default set?

Oh well I'll see about  getting one once I get paid next week.

    Hi Guys.

Picked one up today (Thames have plenty in stock for those interested), yet to check it, however it did not come with a Cable (USB to iPod connection) does this come with the pack and am I missing it from mine or are we expected to use our own iPod USB Cables?

    Regards

    Craig

Craig - no it doesnt come with a cable. Fiat (yes) does one for 17.50 but it's the same as the one that came with the ipod. Has a nice cable winder though.
How much did you pay for yours?

72.50 I think (including VAT), being a Mac user I just couldn't be faffed with having to convert selected files to Mp3's and fill up an old iPod just to use Blue and Me. I'll have a go this morning with set up on my iPhone and let everybody know how I get on.

    Cheers as always

    Craig

Edit: Fully installed and fully working, really was easy to do as long as you followed the instruction laid down by frytol (Thanks for that) and in the Manual for the Adapted, off out later on so i'll report back on features/use/issues if nobody has already done so.

Cheers for help and guidance from the Forum guys.

    The part number is 71805430.

I paid £62.31 for mine (inc VAT)

I bought it, they downloaded an update to my B&M, I plugged it in and it worked!
You can control the volume and skip tracks but I didn't have a chance to look into any further. Seems to work fine.

Maybe call for a Group Purchase?

Has anyone looked into Rich's suggestion of a group purchase?

Seems to make sense to me.

What you do to get it cheaper is:

    order it.
go to collect it (1 hour drive).
find out when you get there that they've left it at another branch.
    Drive home (1 hour drive).
Next day go to the other branch (half hour drive)
Get it and drive home (half hour)

In between this, negotiate a discount.

No complaints though - an excuse to go for a drive, it was an honest mistake anyway.

That would explain it, I'd rather pay the tenner or so difference and have it set up ready for me to collect with the car. Thanks for all the info Sawbo.  :thumb:
