Trauma with Samsung i780

It will force a "master reset" in the same way that you would unplug lets say a sky box for 30 seconds if it was doing silly things.
Shame we can't have a big red "master reset" switch under a plastic cover (like the ones the baddies always use to launch their doomsday weapons in the movies!)   ;D  Or even better, a bloomin menu option to "Reset B&M"

That's what I was searching the manuals for....a reboot instruction or sequence! However, I'll try the battery disconnect.

Many thanks.

try disconnnecting the battery for a minute or so, then retry it.

if not, delete the phone, do the battery again then try repairing it.

    Hi Chunky/John501,

I disconnected the battery and hey presto, as soon as I started up the car, B&M connected to the phone fine.

I had to reset the time and date but it beats deleting/repairing. Is there anything else I should reset?

Do you think this will happen again if I turn on/off the radio when parked up or did the system just throw a one off funny?

Many thanks guys - Chunky you are the Blue&Memiester. :thumb:

The simple answer is that we dont know if it will happen again :thumbd: Your car will have the latest version of software already in it as Chunky would have updated it on PDI.
I really dont think that turning the radio on/off when parked would have caused the problem in the first place but its worth another go to see if it is the cause.

im not sure what causes it, whether it is a temporary battery voltage problem or just a software glitch etc.

i think euroboy has posted about it before as hes used to it with his alfas?

    anyway, glad youre sorted.  :thumb:

    CAR + MS O/S (without a reboot function) =  :'(

Imagine an MS based PC where you have to take the battery out to reboot ... I don't want to, as it's too grim a scenario to imagine.

    I hope it isn't a regular occurance.

    Exactly!

When I went on the test drive for my GP 2 years ago, my other half said "so how do you do a f'in CTRL+ALT+DELETE on this thing then?" ... Oh how we laughed!

Hmmm... Wish we could do that now!!

As mentioned, I am well used to the process with my Alfas and now my 500.

When it completely spazzes out a quick battery disconnect is the only way I have found to cure it.

My clocks are flashing again today :( but its at the dealer tomorrow anyway for its new rear bumper, so they can sort it then.

Bloody thing refuses to connect again. >:(

I'll rapidly get fed up with disconnecting the battery every week.

How do I best register a formal complaint? With Abarth or my dealer?
