Updating B&M and changing language
« on: April 29, 2015, 10:54:20 am »
Hi,

there's a lot of topics on this but I can't seem to find the correct answer. I just purchased a 2012 model and it was speaking French, so I tried to download a language pack and install that, but got an "USB Error 10".

So I downloaded the new B&M v9.0 but after a failed install my car now speaks Italian.

Tried another USB drive and installing v9.0 again: no USB error 10 but now it's been stuck at "installing" for 15 minutes. My guess is that failed updates revert to Italian, and that my car haven't been updated.

Any ideas what I can do? Do I need to take it to a dealer?

I have tried with two different USB Drives:
      16 GB Kingston DataTraveler 2.0
      32 GB Verbatim USB 3.0

The former always give "USB Error 10" while the latter only seem to get stuck without errors. I will try to get a hold of a 1GB drive to see if that works better. Maybe the old-fashioned system wants an old-fashioned thumb drive.

I've also used both OS X 10.10 and Windows 8.1 to format the drive to FAT32 and copy the contents, but no dice.

They do seem to be very sensitive to different USB stick manufacturers :thumbd:

I now realise that I have finally completely fallen off the back of the 'tech stuff' curve ::) I didn't even understand the title neve mind the rest of it ;D I find my normal 'english' setting tends to default to 'rubbish' after inserting a certain amount of alcohol ;D Anyhow, hope you sort it :thumb:
