A500 head unit control of USB stick

I picked up my brand new A500 on Friday and so I'm just getting used to her and playing with all the toys.
One issue I have is with the control and display of music when played from a USB stick. I can only control it from the steering wheel and not from the head unit. The main head unit display simply says blue and me media.
Is this right or am I missing something?
If I'm not missing something and this is what happeneds its rubbish! Time to look at aftermarket solutions. :-(
Can anyone offer any advice?

    The blue & me unit is separate from the head unit, and can only only be controlled by the steering wheel :thumbd:

    Well thats crap.

    Its a bit odd how the Blue and Me system does this on other cars. Ie was looking at the system on the alfa Mito, and that dispays the informatin and you can control the USB from the main headunit and the steering wheel.

    Time to look at aftermarket solutions.  :-(
