FIAT 128-3P ABARTH
« on: February 28, 2014, 01:06:10 pm »
Back in the 80's I had a metallic blue 128 -3P which I " Abarthised" by fitting a genuine Abarth twin pipe exhaust, a front spoiler and a plastic Abarth grill badge ! I never knew that Abarth had actually considered producing a real Abarth 128-3P until I was reading " Le Abarth dopo Carlo Abarth" ( yes I bought the Italian language edition before the English version came out ) and there on page 39 were some photos of a proposed 128 " Coupe Restyling Abarth ", looking not that different from my version. Unfortunately it appears that the model never made it into production.

Sadly the 128 was largely ignored by Abarth as Scuderia Filipinetti and Giannini had bagged it.
Both Filipinetti Saloon and Coupes looked superb.
I think some German dealers "Abarthised" the MK11 saloon but Abarth Italy never did.
