I am almost reliving your attempts right now, my dad is looking at cars and I keep hinting that the Abarth 500 will be the right choice for him (even though he drives a big M-Class Auto the now :P).

He tells me of how he almost bought a Lancia Delta Integrale years ago when he saw them everyday on the way to work at a garage down in England when we used to stay there(Hemel Hempstead?, anyone remember any Lancia garages about there).

Hes looking at Alfa Romeo Brera's the now, and I really wouldn't grumble if he replaced the tank with that beauty!

Made me laugh that the bucket seats fitted in these cars could not be tilted forward to let people in the back and the headrest hit the roofliner  ;D. An example of this can be seen in the Abarth 500 test that took place on Top Gear a few weeks ago. (Jeremy stated this as a reason to love Abarth, for crazy things like that for example, and also said that his only gripe about the 500 was that nothing is really crazy about it, er, dual exhausts and a diffuser? :P)

As I recall you could get in the back a lot easier if you pulled the sun visor down and then the seat would go a bit further forward.

I seem to remember also that this was a minor problem, I remember my friend accelarating in his and the seat coming out of the floor, that was more of an issue, he's still got most of one in his Mum's garage, been there over 15 years or more I think. A truly fantastic car at the time when everyone had an XR3i or Golf GTI it was so much more fun.

Yes, I remember always doing that. One of mine had a split sun visor where the previous owner must of forced the seat when getting into the back.
