I bought my car from Phil. As I've stated elsewhere here, he was terrific - one of my best ever motor trade experiences.

I think the guys and girls at Lipscomb deserve a thumbs up from me.

Just completed a purchase with Phil, very relaxed & professional.

One of the best dealer experiences I have had & unfortunately often a rarity these days.

    Keep up the good work.

Buying through Phil was a great experience and when ever I'm in He always has time to shake my hand have a quick chat and I can't fault the guy, his lady friend from the Alfa department is very nice too ;) ;)

It's sadly when we move over to the service dept where I have the problem, Chris (I think) has been very helpful but last year there was a new guy that was in charge of the service department, tall fella, anyway he was abit funny and was trying to convince me that some of my issues with the car at the very end of the warranty where due to it being a racing car for the road and to trust him as he used to race cars on track when he was younger...

Its a mildly warm hot hatch with crap suspension based on a little city car designed for women! It's not a out and out race car PMSL He said that on my next service I'd need a brake service and require pads and discs at the very least on the rear and maybe on the fronts... Roll on 12months car went in for its second MoT and fourth service only after talking them out of doing a £700 full service including spark plugs as I only had 12,500miles on the car they decided a low mileage service would be better ;)

I was told to get the car to the garage as early as possible, so reported at 08:00 just as the service dept opened, told them I'd be in the local area as there was no point in going home to Dartford only to be mucked about at 12:00 and told that my car hadn't even gone in and wouldn't till after lunch so we returned to Dartford and only when I chased at 15:45 was told the car was ready although I had been reassured that I would have been contacted when the car was ready!

Oh and that brake service... Nothing mentioned! On top of that when the car was in the year before for the last of the warranty work which included a resealed gearbox as it was leaking and a new clutch slave cylinder (I think) they not only scratched the F**k out of my G-Tech turbo/manifold cover, but broke one of the support pegs on my GTTuning induction kit, I'm sure that they cracked the L bracket on it as well but as its a known weak link on the induction kit I can't be sure and ever since then I've also had a strange vibration from my G-Tech exhaust which makes me think they haven't lined that up right neither Grrrrrrr!

So from next year on I'm gonna use either AmD in Essex or SanSpeed in Kent for all my servicing, won't be going back to Lipscomb unless I can help it which is a real shame

In my search to find some parts, I had no luck with a few dealers  :thumbd: but was put in touch with Lipscomb, Aylesford.
Having made my request, I was impressed that a member of staff called me back straightaway and worked me out a good deal.
I went down to pick them up and was pleasantly surprised by the warm, professional approach they showed me. :thumb:

My only gripe was that they could sign post the Parts dept up a bit better but other than that - very good! :thumb:

I've purchased many cars from Lipscomb and the experience has almost been identical on each occasion. Sales is good courtesy of Phil in the Abarth department, but the overall experience is somewhat tainted by the service department.

Im a very patient person, I understand that sometimes things are out of the dealers hand's and they're solely reliant on the supplier from Italy which can be a bit slow, but i don't mind these things i'm a tolerant person, all i ask is to be kept informed, that's all. When ive asked them to give me a ring back, it very rarely happens, resulting in me always chasing them, which shouldn't happen.

Yes sometimes, they're going to busy and yes sometimes they might genuinely forget, we're all human, but ive been buying cars there for 5 years and family have been for even longer and it always seems to happen. Fix this little problem and you'll have a 10/10 garage, simple.

    Kind Regards

I visited Lipscomb to have a look at a red 500 advertised on their used car page, but to be honest it didn't seem worth the asking price. I was reconciling myself to a drive back to Oxford when Philip Rigby suggested to my other half that he could do a deal on a brand new car that she couldn't walk away from (she'd seen the record grey anniversary in the showroom and loved the colour). Quite frankly I would rather look for a gas leak with a burning match than try that, but (as the family finance guru) she sat down with him. Three quarters of an hour later we were driving homewards having bough our new baby on a 50% now, 50% in two years deal!
Philip couldn't have been more helpful, or less pushy. He arranged for the petal wheels to be changed for the diamond cut 10 spokes and changed the chrome wheel centres for the red rimmed ones.  I phoned him up to ask if he could change the mirror caps to red to suit the centres and register it with my personal plate and he just said OK, no problem. From start to finish I can honestly say that we were both impressed with the way we were treated. I won't be using them for service, but that's only because it's too much of a drive from Oxford.  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Big Thank You To Phil Rigby In Sales and Adam Treacher In Service. Put A500 in at short notice to replace the Oil Cooler. Between them both, they got my Car In and got me back on the Road with the loan of a C500 Very Nice It was too. Was kept updated and the whole thing was kept as a painless as possible.

    Big Thank You.

Service department needs to be gutted and started afresh. Apart from Phil on sales who always seems to go out his way to help you, that place is shocking. Still waiting for a phone call that's now overdue by 3 days, aftersales in that place has and always will be a farce.
