Just popped into the Thames service department to get my B&M system reset.
They appeard to be nice people and very efficient. I guess I'll find out for sure in a few thousand miles.
BTW, they had a grey A500SS with titanium wheels on the lot. I'm so glad that I chose the white as the titanium's made the car look lacklustre in comparisson. A quick straw pole was unanimously in favour of white. :thumb:

got my a500 from thames, the service dept fixed the stripe under warranty no problem, as per my previous post, have tried to arrange a test in an esseesse.... still waiting for a call!! you would think if i waved two and half grand in any other recession hit business they would at least go thru the motions. but alas not.. why the govt (and us as tax payers) are trying to save these arrogant dealers , I am at a loss, in a service industry, without good service they are nothing, the quicker the rubbish ones go to the wall the better!

I had my GPA serviced by Thames today and they seem a competent outfit. I waited. First I had a coffee, then I had a chat with Ajay about my potential purchase of an A500 to complete my Abarth collection in the first half of next year, which was nice, then I wandered around admiring all the registered and as yet unregistered and unsold Abarth cars, and then I sneaked up on the big gate to the workshop and watched. It was cool, the guy working my car was very thorough, he did everything I asked them to and the service bill was not much more than for the Punto Sporting at the time. So I won't hesitate to take my car back there, especially since they are well within commuting distance, which Westover sadly is not.

Collected my new car yesterday - can't thank Abb at Thames Slough enough.
This is the fifth car in a row purchased from Thames and overall the experience has been positive, in each case any little niggles pointed out were rectified with a minimum of fuss.
The showroom is always spotless and comfortable, and I was offered refreshments whilst the paperwork formalities were being dealt with.
Handover was flawless, the car was presentable and ready to drive away. They will definately continue to get my trade in future.
They gave me a fair part-ex on my old car, so all in all quite happy.
10/10 for Thames Slough, I can highly recommend them. :thumb:

In terms of Thames, I haven't got a bad word to say about them. Great bunch of guys from my perspective, always willing to help out and knowledgeable to about the cars. A few of them were at Silverstone last year to see their sponsored 500 and show a commitment to the brand.

I bought my car through Ajay at Thames. I think this is my 3rd Fiat from them and the service was excellent, as always. I always go back to 'Abb' there and this time dealt with Ajay.
The guys there are all really friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I can't recommend them enough. :thumb:

Bought mine from Thames, Slough, dealing with Ajay, who I have to say was scrupulously professional, helpful and friendly.
Reading the comments on here, it would seem my favourable impressions of this dealership were not a one-off, which is always good to know.

Ok picked up the car yesterday afternoon .... WOW!
Ajay had phoned me to say he had a unregistered one on friday and could have it ready for monday :o even after I said I wanted the SS and Monza.
It was pre arranged for wednesday, and yesterday morning as I am speaking to Ajay sorting out the insurance, he asked if I wanted to come to slough this afternoon and pick it up ::)
So there I was at Slough trying not to slobber over my car on the forecourt, Ajay talking me through the paperwork in plain english, very nice guy and makes you feel very important, plus no bullsh*t, which is rare in car salesmen these days ;)
He then brought the car round, gave me a thorough walk through, which was a bit tedious I had already figured out much of it and just wanted to drive baby drive, but I listened like a good school boy should.
Suddenly noticed they had forgot the parking sensors, understandable as it was supposed to be a wednesday pick up, he said not to worry, he would send his guy over to my office, which is 30 miles from Slough, I thought that was excellent.
Job done, I thanked him, like I was shaking the president of america's hand, you know the whole " so honoured to meet you and thankyou for seeing me " kinda thing.. :shy:
and with that, got it, roared it to life and shot off for 25 yards, hit traffic, which pretty much was the journey at 5pm on the M25 going back towards St Albans :-\

Like everybody else has said... Thames and esp Ajay are thoroughly recommended by me.
Ajay is a straight talking, all round nice guy. Nothing like any other car salesman I have dealt with in the past.
If you are from this part of the world and you want an Abarth, Thames are the people to deal with.

Had a second service last week. Phoned on Monday, goot appt for Wednesday and after 30,0000 miles I obviously needed new brakes all around. I got a good discount and my car goes like a rocket after this service. I don't know what they do at garages, but Scorpi runs fast and smooth. And no more squeaking. The rear pads had not worn down any in 2 years. In fact, Thames asked me where I had them done recently. I did not have them done, they were originals. So I got suspicious and had them replaced. In any event, Thames in Slough are very cool. In my opinion.

Had to decide whether to add the Esseesse to my Abarth or not. AJ in sales let me test a car on their forecourt and was very helpful. Decided to go for it and had no problems or complaints with they guys in service. Their cost for the 18k service and the esseesse kit were very very competitive. Would recommend.

Drove the Thames demo car a week before the launch, for various reasons ended up buying my car elsewhere (not Thames fault)
But popped into the service department last Saturday, my Blue&Me microphone is not working, the iPhone sounds garbled when it plays music (through the adaptor) and it would be nice if my LHD Xenons could be repointed
Service manager couldn't have been more helpful, when I said I work in town during the week so really needed to have work done on a Saturday, he offered me a loan car booked for a week! So the A500 goes in on the 18th and I have the loan car to Xmas Eve if I can't get there sooner
And I didn't even buy from them, so pretty impressed

Popped in for the Airbag recall and come out with a Monza Exhaust. ;D Car was cleaned even though it was clean so wished I had not washed it the day before. Very helpful. Only one complaint but not Garage work, etc.
I will have a one Year Service done there next May. Good rates as well. I will get them to do my new Brembo Drilled Brake Disc's all round when I get them soon so I have that little extra stopping power.

Popped in to get a new key paired with the car. Before we left I attemped to top up the washer bottle and ended up with wet feet and a still empty washer bottle - so it looked like there was a massive leak. I usually clean the windscreen before leaving for work in the morning so have rarely used the jets. Thames had a look at the bottle whilst it was there and ended up fixing the jets instead and they had no issue filling the washer bottle. :thumb:
I suspect I missed the washer bottle entirely, even though I was using a funnel ::) I blame the lack of light in my car port :)
The slip road from the M4 to the south bound M25 still has a massive trench across it that felt awful even at 25mph.

Car went in for first service (low mileage) so change of oil and filter, gasket changed, tyres rotated. £200 all in inc. £40 for oil and £110 for labour. Not too bad considering its south  Very pleased with service and communication. Had a radiator fixed under warranty too. Bought my car from Ajay at Thames back in November last year. Great guy, Great service! :thumb: Also, managed to kerb an alloy 2 weeks ago and got in touch with a mobile service in my area who wanted to steal my alloys away from me for 4-5 days and paint them a different colour...which meant I would lose the beautiful diamond cut finish! :thumbd: After having my doubts I called Ajay, who arranged for me to drop my car in at Thames, Slough and hey presto 3 hours later my car rolled up outside the dealership with the alloy looking brand new....AND the same colour.
Like I said. Great guy, Great service! Keep up the good work Ajay! ;D

Plus points:
Staff/salesman was very friendly. I got a good hour or so as a test drive which encompassed windy roads, traffic and motorway driving. The salesman managed to work out a deal to match an existing finance quote I was armed with. I got thoroughly shown around the car and the salesman set up my phone on blue and me. I had half a tank of petrol to drive away with.
Negatives: Once the paperwork had been signed, my subsequent questions via email were ignored. I didn't get a call to say my car was ready for collection. I collected my car on monday and it's still advertised as being for sale on their website.
Overall it was a good experience and the negatives are only minor quibbles.

Dropped car off nice and early at 8am with no problem and got Fiat 500 courtesy car to get to work in.
Dealt with Courtney who was very good and said it should be by 3pm and sure enough I got a call at 3pm telling me all was good and it had passed! Got stuck on M25 and M4 going there after work (damn Fri traffic) so arrived pretty near closing time but was still treated well and didn't feel rushed or like they wanted rid of me (they'd also fixed some minor warranty work that I didn't know I needed doing).
My car had also been washed and vacuumed inside. All very impressive and for a fair price of £145.00 !! :thumb:

Top-notch service from John at Thames Slough... Easy to arrange the test drive, short walk from mainline train station, no pressure or 'salespeak', knew everything about the car and its features, always called back when promised, effortless purchasing experience - apart from the bit about having to actually hand over the money of course ;)

I had to have some warranty work carried out. Points that needed fixing was a simple list:
Windscreen wipers knocking each other
Rattle from back end of car
Number one was fixed in a simple visit, arm adjusted and wipers changed as they had spilt since banging together. All happy with that.
Needed to be booked in for the rattle to be looked at, this was book for the following Monday. Dropped car off on Sat to avoid Monday rush.
Was expecting a call at end of Monday to say how the work was progressing. Tuesday morning came, I called and promised a call back no returned call with update, I had to call end of Tuesday to be told still don’t know what was wrong.
Wednesday morning still not sure what was wrong, after I called AGAIN. I get a call a few hours later to say they still don’t know what is causing the rattle so they were going to change the rear shocks.
Phone call on Thursday to say that has fixed it and ready for collection.
Good that it has been fixed, however very annoying that no calls were ever returned until I started to be the unhappy customer and many thanks to Lynne for giving me a call back.
Would I return there, probably not unless an absolute must.

18K service done for reasonable (for these parts) £345 (including brake fluid). Had a terrible, awful and frankly shocking Punto Dualogic. Never drove anything as bad as that. Bought a new Abarth SS exactly 1 year ago, all over a very good car , booked it in for 1st year, low mileage service 6000 miles, cost £170 for oil and filter change (told pollen filter would be changed but looks like it was not as no mention of it on invoice !) Brought to their attention rattle from rear right over bumps and the fact that the tyre pressure indicators have shown red from day one). Waited for car to be serviced for 3 hours ( which I did not mind), then told they would need the car for 2 days the following week to further investigate the rattle(seems a familiar story on here), and that yes the tyre pressure indicators were faulty ( well done!, if they were not faulty, I would not have asked for them to be replaced!)....oh and they had not got any in stock!!!...but would be in for the following week. So I rebooked the car in only to get a call a week later to say "the tyre indicators were not in yet", so no point doing the 11 mile round trip to them, and they would call when they were in....I am still waiting Imagine my dismay when I took the car home to find a scratch on the underside of the rear spoiler ( on a car that has not one scratch, dent or mark on it!) I then look at the service book to find it has not been stamped! oh and the nice bright yellow oil fillercap is now an oil smudged image of it's former self!
Not impressed that this is how you get treated when you spend £20,000 !

18k service today.
Jade in the service department is a real credit to Thames. She is what customer service is all about. Cheery, friendly and calls you with updates on the car and gives you the right information and does what she says she is going to do.
only slight grump was that considering the car was booked over 10 days ago, they didn't have the replacement wheel nuts and centre wheel covers in stock, would of thought they might have ordered them in, but Jade said it would be sorted for me with no problem and done in a couple of weeks.
Car feels like new again, and they even attempted a clean ( not upto my standards though ;) )

I can't even begin to tell you how shocked and disappointed I am by the service i've recieved from this dealer. Once it has had the last issue (and yes there were many) sorted out under warranty I will never return unless it's a necessity.
If you want your car damaged whilst work is being carried out, excessive mileage added whilst in their possession, using your fuel and not replacing it, to be fobbed off afterwards with "300 miles is acceptable as it was a difficult fault to diagnose," then to go in for warranty work (a 60 mile round trip), to leave your car there for a week, get a phone call saying it was all done, and then to turn up and find out that the work hadn't actually been carried out at all, then go ahead and use them. I was already upset that the dashboard had to be removed on a 1300 mile old car, i was assured that it would be quality checked before the car was returned to me, yet the A pillar trim was visibly damaged where they'd obviously levered the dash in/out against it, and there was a nut floating about behind the dash that slid from side to side when you went round a bend. Great quality control they obviously have!!
I have got the managers name and email address but been away for work recently so not had a chance to express my feelings to him yet, but the service department say he is aware of the issues i've had, so why he hasn't bothered calling me to chase up my concerns is a mystery to me. Obviously happy to take £16k of my money and then provide a sub standard aftercare service.
My bumper still needs a respray under warranty as it was poorly fitted from the factory and the paint has flaked off where it meets the wing, but after it went in to have this done, i was phoned and told it was ready to pick up, and on arriving at the garage to find it hadn't actually been done, they blamed "a break down of communication," i'm pretty reluctant to let them have it back. The paint issue had been approved by Fiat under warranty, it was even discussed in the carpark when i was handing the keys over when leaving the car there.
As it stands i've still never had a proper answer as to why they put so many miles on the clock of a brand new car when they had it in for 2 weeks.

Can't fault Thames Fiat in Slough with anything! They are all very helpful and upfront with you! Ajay was my salesman and I found him very pleasant and easy to talk to. On my test drive he just let me get on with it, felt like I was just driving along with one of my mates which was great!
Since buying my Abarth Grande Punto back in August this year it has had to go in two times for warranty work relating to the blue and me system on both accessions I have been dealt with professionally and quickly. Any time I have been in the dealership or on the phone I have been dealt with by A1 service!
There is a very very strong chance I will be getting my next car from Thames Fiat Slough when the time comes around!

Decided to upgrade my shifter for the aluminium Scorpion version. Thought this would be easy so I spoke to my localish dealer who wasn't prepared to post it to me as they don't have a need to use the post on a daily basis (go figure). Clearly I was no exception to that rule. He then proceeded to tell me part was on back order. Generally unhelpful and they definitely won't be getting my service business.
Went to eBay and found dealer selling one so I ordered. Following day a message to say its on back order and refunded my money.
Remembered hearing all the positive feedback about Thames so I ended up speaking to Dave in parts. He was really pleasant off the bat. Confirmed that the part was on back order but wanted to have a little search to see if he could help. Do you know at that point he had already surpassed the apathy I had experienced from others and won me over.
The good news is not only did he find me the shifter but did me a deal on an oil and fuel cap. What a top top man.
Thames Abarth are fantastic! They have gone to the top of my go to list in future. He may have given away some profit but he won me as a customer. They will definitely get my service business; it would be worth the drive!
