Driving in the fog at 2 am a couple of weeks back...i was pulled over by the cops....nearly pooped meself of course, as you do, when you see them following, then the blue lights go on. Turned out my fog light was faulty...giving off white light...
Went to Westovers a couple of days later.....they looked at car straight away and ordered a new light , i went in this morning at 8:30, and it was fixed in an hour....
The car was completely filthy, with country road muck....so they even gave it a free clean while i waited....
efficient, polite and friendly sevice by all....
Added bonus....i had a lovely fry up in the cafe next door while i waited (just came straight from a night shift)....huge plateful and a mug of tea for £3.60  ;D
A young lad arrived at the same time as me with a red A500 np. I did mention that he had a great car  :thumb:  ...is it some one on here...soz i should have asked at the time!

note to self.... do not attempt to contribute to any discussion on engine modification and tuning stuff, remember you know nothing about them.

Westover Sports Cars:  that's where I got my GPA from.  And they are still interested.  Ben keeps in touch regularly about how I am feeling about the car.  What can I say?  I love this car.  I've loved all my cars.  And the GPA especially.  I will be forever grateful to Westover for giving me Ferrari plates.  At the time I bought the car in 2008, they did not have any Abarth plates, so they went for Ferrari ;D.  I'd like a Ferrari of course, but can't quite afford it, so the GPA is the next best thing.  Westover rule.  They are too far away to go for a service and Thames Fiat are now Abarth registered, so I prefer them, as they are 60 miles closer, but Westover did good stuff for me and are still interested, so I like them a lot.

They seem a good car dealer, Ben helped me, there were delays in getting the car, due to .the snow!
But he was great. Not looking forward to the common faults I might get and have to get fixed !!

Have to agree with all the good things people have said about these guys, Ben and Chris have kicked the "customer support" oxymoron right out of the ballpark. 100% customer satisfaction here as nothing has been too much trouble for them.  :thumb:

I was a bit wary when I found out that the car would need to go to the Wallisdown Road site for any warranty work as I have not had good experiences with them when I had my 500 1.3MJT Sport. However, today they had the car in for the airbag software update recall and to find an annoying rattle. Whilst they had it they carried out a free safety service and I was extremely happy that they sorted the rattle. It wasn't any of the normal things like door catches or rear seats not slammed back hard enough but ................... some coins that had fallen down onto the seat runner. So full marks to them and some humble pie for my tea, lol.

Another bunch of love for Ben at Westover!

We bought Abarth number 3 from him earlier this year which went as smoothly as the previous two.

I needed an Abarth related favour as well this week and Ben pulled out all of the stops for us. Very grateful, great work Ben!  :thumb:

Wallisdown Road site for any warranty work - Not so good!!

That is definitely the downside of the operation. Just had my two year service done, which as everyone on here knows (hang head in shame if not) should include a change of brake fluid. I checked when I booked it in that it would be done and (because of previous poor service with my other Fiat 500) I made a point of including a letter to that effect. When I called in to collect it I was told everything had been done and that there was one advisory, Yep! that's right, they told me that I needed to have the brake fluid changed. After not getting anywhere with reception I asked to see the manager and we went over the schedule printout. I indicated the line where it stated; "Brake Fluid to be changed at 36,000, 72,000, 108,000 OR at 24 months" but apparently there is nothing that appears on the VDU schedule that states this. Anyway, in the end I managed to get them to take it back into the workshop and change the fluid but when they tried to charge me another £64 for the priviledge I made enough fuss that resulted in me having it FOC as a goodwill gesture.

At £419.00 there was no way I was paying extra for changing the fluid.

The other strange thing is that according to the computer schedule, the spark plugs have to be changed at 2 years, irrespective of mileage. As it happens my car had just got to 10,300 miles so it would have made it to the third year service before needing them replaced but I had already made up my mind to have them changed early so I avoided that argument. But I did suggest that they get their IT dept to sort these two items into proper order as they obviously don't know the difference between mileage based and time based components.

Westover Sports Cars are excellent, it is such a pity that they cannot share their Lotus workshop with Abarth though.

<edit> Just noticed that they carried out a FREE safety inspection whilst it was there, surely there can't have been anything on that sheet that wasn't covered in the initial service.  ???

Hi. Now I have sold my car back to Ben, he gave me a decent price and was still very helpful even though I was going elsewhere to buy a BMW, I will always go back to them 1st to buy any car. It is just the servicing, they need to buy a bmw and go to Woods in Bournemouth, now they know how to treat customers and fix cars, but they are about £50 - £80 dearer, but amazing!

Thought I'd write up my experience:

Called to book in the car for 18k service. Quoted £360 (which I thought was reasonable). Was asked if there were any issues? I said there were a few:

    1. Aux connector broken
    2. Rear brakes "squealing"
    3. Fuel cap cable snapped
    4. Requested loan car.

All of this was dealt with by a lovely lady over the phone. Was assured all would be dealt with.

Car dropped off and loan car collected. Westover called to say vehicle was ready. Whilst on phone I asked about additional issues reported.

    1. Aux connector - I would have to re-book with Fiat Wallisdown, as only they could carry out warranty work (despite being told car would be dropped off with them at time of booking for work to be carried out).
    2. Rear brakes - And I quote> " This is a characteristic of the car"
    3. Fuel cap cable has been replaced.

Thoughts? A bit miffed the Aux connector was not sorted, and that I have to re-book the car in. Very narked about the reason the rear brakes were "characteristically squealing"!! And therefore not remedied.

Apologies from the service department that the wash/vac was not carried out prior to collection, but they did say if I was happy to wait (or come back) they would carry this out....

Very happy that the cost was £60 below what was quoted, just the "niggly other stuff". Would have been happy to pay the £360 and had the brakes sorted.......

I am not unhappy with the service I received, just the whole experience could have been better........ Would I go back? Yes, I guess...

Have to agree with all the good things people have said about Ben @ Westover Sportscars.

I traded in my 59 plate Bossa Nova White Abarth 500 for a shiny new 63 plate Record Grey 595 last weekend and couldn't be happier.

At first I was undecided as to whether to stick with the car I had, get another Abarth or go for completely different make of car (I know... I must of been drunk/deluded). I ended up taking the best option of buying another Abarth!.

The dealership is a 160 mile round trip for me and was well worth the long journey.

Ben is a real credit to Westover and couldn't of done more to make the purchase smoother. He rectified a few minor issues and was a real pleasure to deal with. He even pulled out all the stops to get the car ready for the bank holiday weekend.

I collected the car on Good Friday and haven't stopped driving it since. I'm over the moon with it and especially love the Sabelt seats and Monza exhaust.

Just waiting on my personalized number plate to be transferred, which Ben has kindly wrote off the fees.

Do not hesitate to make the trip to Westover Sportscars, you will not regret it!

Then - Abarth 500 - Bossa Nova White... Now - Abarth 595 Competizone - Record Grey

The service I received at Westover was top notch. 12 months ago I decided to swap my 06 reg Porsche boxster. The wife always wanted a 500 and I started looking at abarth reviews everything looked good I found the car I liked the look of at Westover. I rang ben and he gave me a part ex price over phone i paid a deposit to hold the car and arranged the drive from Cheshire. On arriving first job coffee all around and the test drive i was encouraged to drive the car has it should be driven. Ben stuck to his price for my car i had booked a b&b for the night and ben arranged to have car serviced and ready for next day collection. After 6 months the engine management light started coming on and wouldn't stay cleared down when reset. I  was going on a short break to poole so rang ben and was treated like bought the car yesterday not usual response arranged to get car into service and new loan car so not to spoil our holiday. Turns out the car was developing to much boost and after a few hiccups was all sorted at no cost to me despite the changing of part twice. Also dealt with chris in ben absence and service was outstanding. Would go back there if changing again no problem.

The purchasing from Westover was an absolute pleasure, dealt with Chris mainly and when we had issues early on he kicked all around to get them sorted so top marks to the sales side & the servicing when carried out by sportscars could not be faulted.

BUT as for the  Wallisdown Wallys. When we first got the car & it decided to fill the car with water that should have been going out of the aircon drain they were superb, stripped the car to dry the carpets, replaced the aircon unit & all the sound deadening effected, the car came back perfect & not a squeak. However over the years the service has gone from great to Absolutely dire !!! And in the end we switched dealers. So sad as it lets down all the good work done by Chris & Ben.

Our Abarth ownership is soon to end, 50,000 miles with a car that's a hoot to drive, unfortunately an experience severly tainted by reliability issues.
