Westover has the standard Abarth showroom layout, although you do have the 'chore' of having to walk past a few Ferraris and Porsches first. Lots of empty shelves, clearly still waiting for Abarth merchandise to arrive. Configurator was switched off or wasn't working, and is placed on the back of a wall so isn't immediately obvious. No brochures, of course, but a few dealer-made fact sheets and price lists were available. Coffee offered (and accepted!) on every visit.
Salesman knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the car and personable to deal with. Good length test drive over a mixture of roads. Genuinely interested in my feedback about the car. Efficiently got on with the job of putting a deal together, which I was reasonably happy with. Once ordered, kept in touch with updates regarding delivery dates, etc.
On delivery day, little disappointed to find carpet mats still not sorted, despite asking several times, and was overcharged for standard Fiat mats. Dealer-supplied stripes still being fitted as I arrived, and have air bubbles in places. Seemed to be a lot of miles on the car, too. Hand-over was efficient enough. Once home, discovered lots of wax on black plastic trim, hence my
peanut butter thread!
Overall, enthusiastic to start with, but seemingly a little keen to make an extra buck. Not tremendously impressed with the prep of the car, and concerned already that someone had been having a little joy-ride in it even before I'd collected it. Does not instil confidence regarding aftersales treatment.
I like to feel that the dealer shares my enthusiasm for the car, and not just an enthusiasm for making money. For aftersales, I think I'd probably try somewhere else, even just for comparison.
