595 gone quiet....
« on: December 19, 2015, 08:41:04 am »
I picked up a new 595 180 competizione in October. Was well chuffed that it was a lot louder then my old a500.

I heard to wire the valve open on the back box and after I did that it was even louder and rasped even more.

The last week it's gonna quiet on me. No more rasping or popping.... Didn't know if anyone else has had a similar issue. Could be because the car is now run in?....

As exhausts get coated with carbon they become quieter.

Have you checked to see if your flap modification is still holding? :thumb:

My dads told me the cat could be semi blocked.... On a 2 month old car? Surely that's not the case.

No, the carbon acts as an "insulator".

Mine has got louder, it's not gone quieter at all!

I'm not sure if wiring open the valve invalidates your warranty, but considering your car is new, get it checked under warranty and replaced if it's a problem, the exhaust's are covered only for a year I believe (not sure if that's still the case on the fully stainless systems) so the sooner the better either way.

Like porthos says get it checked out :)

if the valves seezed theyl unseaze it. when i bought the mild steel one they upped it to 2 year warantee but that was mild steel one.

if you do decide to wire it open it shouldnt (dont take my word for it) invalidate your warantee but i would remove the wire before taking it to them just incase.
Now with added monza fun :P
