Abarth demographic
« on: February 23, 2015, 04:01:15 pm »
As there is another thread about us old farts in A500s', it reminds me of the projected use of the cars when reintroduced in 2008.

If I remember correctly, the 500 would have the young (21 to 28) buyers whilst the more mature buyer (30 to 40) would go for the Punto version.

When the MTA box was introduced, it was the younger women that would flock.

The marketing and consultation fraternity that made these forecasts should make an immediate refund and change jobs :thumb:

Really? I would have thought insurance would be an issue at the lower end of the scale.

I was 23 when I bought my AGP Esseesse...  Does that make me an old fart on the inside? :thumb:

I mentioned this on the "introduce Yourself" thread.

At 48 I thought that I had just bought a car that maybe I am about quarter of a century too old for, but, it seems not.

Is it possible that the name 'Abarth' has an emotional pull to 40 year old 'ish' 'petrol heads'?

shameless plug of my flickr account....aviation, wildlife, and maybe a few cars soon...

Welcome along but I'm afraid you're 12 years early to join the over 60's club :thumb:

28 now and will buy my first Abarth this summer. They are pretty rare around here and people think it's awesome or a really stupid purchase. You know which ones are fun at parties.

I'm 41 and Wifey is 42, I wanted a small quick car and having 11 fiat uno turbos back in the days plus loads of other fiats in the past, the 500 ticked all the boxes.  Age does not come into buying cars, They are just cheaper to insure when your older ;)

Had always bought Fiat and Alfa Romeo's but caught the Abarth bug at 24. First with my 595 comp, then at 26 with my Supersport.  :)
