Hello, all – first post:

Is it appropriate to register U.S. Abarths here? If so, I have a month-old Mexican-built beauty just waiting to be registered.

this thread is just a data bank recording numbers of abarths registered in the UK, month by month from the rintroduction of the brand.

however, if someone has access to registration data for the US, or Australia for that matter i don't see why you can't set up a similar thread for that info :thumb:

there is a separate thread for you to say hello

    and, welcome from me :thumb:

Well as Lloyd says this is intended for UK new car registrations but i do have access to a fair few other markets data and i can tell you that May 2012 was the first full month of sales for the Mexican assembled and called in your market the Fiat 500 Abarth.  There were 4,003 Fiat 500's registered in the US for May 2012 and the YTD is 16,702.

In fact the 3,000 planned production for the 2012 model have all been sold (not yet registered as they still have to be produced at Toluca) so orders are now being taken for the 2013 model.

    Just a quick statoholic post

The UK market is very strong compared to much of Europe and in particular Italy to give you an idea here are the YTD to the end of May by sector units in ,000's.

          2011        2012     Down
    A     148k         126k     15%   Typical car in sector Fiat 500
    B     264k         213k      19%  Typical car Fiesta Punto
    C     121k           91k      25%  Typical car Golf Focus
    D       56k           42k      25%   Typical car BMW 3  Audi A4  Merc C
    E       12k             9k      25%   Typical Merc E  BMW 5 Audi A6

           601k        481k      20% That is a very substantial 120k units

In the other sectors I can tell you that being a Porsche dealer in Italy is very tough currently as is being an Abarth dealer.

Well STATOHOLICS I am late again sorry had the figures on Thursday but here we go for June 2012
       MONTH                  YTD
    A500        74      433
    A500C        25      129

    SUB TOT        99      562

    APE           4        45

    TOTAL       103      607

On the APE front there were no Red APE registered this month but 2 Grey ones which is 25% of all Grey APE’’s registered this year. The YTD figure is though a -50% delta on the YTD of 90 this time last year.
On the A500/C front very strong figures for the month.

On other registrations for the group well it is return of the Chrysler 300C to the UK market in the rest of Europe it is the Lancia Thema and sneeked through 21 registered in May (HO and Dealer Demos) and 50 for June the official launch date which was mid month but that will be the peak for the year. In Europe the Thema has been selling for a little longer and the numbers mean that it rivaling the Citroen C6! In the UK the C6 has only managed 7 YTD although it did register 1 in June.

Has anyone got Wind the Renault remember I have mentioned this previously and none were registered in the UK in June at all has it run out of puff?

On the 4 door 500 front Lancia Chryslar Ypsilon July should see that over 1,000 have been registered in the UK.

I'll bet that is a load of new Pandas on the rental fleets.

Alfa had fab sales figures at the beginning of the Giulietta but they all seemed to be rentals for Hertz etc and now nobody is buying them and their sales are through the floor.

August 2012 saw 15 Abarths registered with a year to date of 691

    2011 figures were 38 and 818

Obviously the figures reflect the gap in production whilst the range is refreshed

Only 15 cars registered in August 2012, probably explains why the reason Abarth UK decided to attend last night's Ace Cafe meet, to try and promote the brand so more cars can potentially be sold in the upcoming future.

Let's hope Abarth UK really gives marketing and promoting a really good go, the brand deserves it.

I can tell you that no APE's were registered in August

I will put July and Augusts details up in the next few days.
