    Anyone thinking of ordering and taking advantage of the scrappage scheme should bear in mind this:

    Latest Government figures show that 144,308 cars and light vans have been bought through the scrappage scheme since it went live on 18 May 2009

    Money only in place for 300,000 (although I wonder how the last few will be done as the money runs down), at current rate and not allowing for any September upsurge, its will run out by October

    Exclusivity is maintained with the 90 units in July

    Manufacture     July Registrations
    Aston Martin            119
    Bentley                     97
    Porsche                   611

    In terms of the scrappage to the end of July 84,361 vehicles have been registered to the end of July. nyssa's figure of 144,308 i think is the total allocated on the scheme like mine which has been accepted although the vehicle won't be registered until it arrives so 59,947 vehicles have been accepted under the scheme but the new vehicles have not yet been registered.

    It is interesting to see that Porsche is playing its part in the scrappage scheme with 10 cars being registered under the scheme!!

    August shows 59 Abarths

    Which gives YTD (Jan-Aug) of 761

    Still more exclusive than Aston Martin who YTD have 771 registrations

    Scrappage BERR show to the 23rd Aug 185,273 accepted vehicles so August has seen a massive uptake on the scheme so probablly 2 months or so left.

    Well what an interesting month August 09 has been stats wise.

    Fiat Group (Abarth, Alfa Romeo & Fiat no Ferrari or Maserati) saw 58.6% of its registrations come from the Scrappage Scheme in August 09 figures are units registered
                                   Last Yr
    Abarth           59           12
    Alfa             344          216    the 'Mito' effect going on here
    Fiat           3,026       1,629

    Total         3,429        1,857

    Scrappage  registrations of the 3,429 = 2,010

    Things don't look to good at Saab with just 35 registrations in August but don't worry in terms of excllusivity YTD is 5,563 compared to our 761.

    The 59 units done for Abarth shows that factory order only is the main way that these cars are supplied people as this forum clearly shows just want them and not everyone has waited for a 59 plate. 

    Is anyone interested in the split?

    Will be interested to see whether September registrations are a lot higher.

    When i went to Alfa near me they said the only cars they are selling are MiTo's, but I'm suprised people are still happy after they increased the prices again in August.
