Central locking - locks then unlocks immediately
« on: February 04, 2021, 03:08:04 pm »
This is more of a solved issue to help others. I have had for the last week my Abarth unable to be locked. I'd click the remote and the doors would lock and then immediately unlock. The key in the door did the same thing and also the autolock on driving. No errors on the dash and no blown fuses. The answer was actually simple. The driver side door internal handle was no longer self returning, it just stayed out so the car obviously wouldn't let itself be locked. All I had to do was make sure the handle is pushed back in enough as it would normally be. Apparently the return is on a cable rather than a rod so maybe stretched? Anyways if you experience the same issue as me then now you know how to solve. The dealer has ordered me a new unit to properly fix the issue.
