Esseesse vehicle change.
« on: October 15, 2009, 05:53:25 pm »
Has anyone sent off their esseesse letter yet along with your log book to get the vehicle details amended?
We sent ours off beginning of sept, have received it back today & the dvla has rejected the application as the changes were made to the vehicle after it was registered. Funny that considering thats how yyou have to purchase the esseesse model!

I have again been in touch with abarth customer service for them to try & sort (same as obtaining my letter in the first place) they were very helpful then, so am hoping it will be the same this time.

Seems silly that we should have to pay to insure an esseesse when we cant even get a log book to prove it!

Thoughts or other experiences appreciated :)

You are only being honest and open with DVLA, if you'd not sent the letter you'd be facing a fine. DVLA seem to plaster it all over there website and paperwork that if any info is wrong you'll get £1000 fine!!!!!! :thumbd:

i thought it was stupid when i read so as far as dvla are concerned i still have the 155 bhp model. maybe i should insure it as that????? would be cheaper!!!!

Am sure i would get a right a**e kicking if i did that n tried to claim on my insurance.

will keep you posted on what cust services come back with

I bought the car esseessed from new and my V5 still says punto 155 bhp.  I don't think the DVLA can grasp the concept of the esseesse model so i am not even going to bother wasting my time trying to get it changed!

As for the insurance, yes you are probably right, it would be cheaper and i think you would probably get away with it although i wouldn't want to take the risk.
