Does anyone have views on which is better, buying a car with esseesse kit already on, buying the kit seperate. I think it would work out cheaper buying it already installed if your not too good at mechanics ???

you can,t fit it yourself, has to be done by the dealer, i reckon its best to run the car standard for a while and then feel the benefit of the ss kit :thumb:

I'm starting with the standard & intending to SS before my year is up, i'm nearly doubling my bhp with the standard a500 from my previous motor. I'll enjoy that fun before i 'go large' on the fun factor. :thumb:

Once you have got used to yours get a drive in one thats been ss'd before you splash out. You may decide the extra dosent warrant the money

Certainly will do, my biggest worry is the stiffer suspension, I go down some pretty bumpy roads & don't want to find & i'm gonna bounce into some bushes, or even worse an on coming car :thumbd:

Some people take delivery of the A500 and think it's too slow and needs SS'ing, it's not the case, the car just need time to run in properly and the power soon becomes apparent after a few thousand miles. I considered the SS kit but after 9500 miles and 8 months of ownership, i really don't feel the need anymore, the car performs brilliantly without it. But if you really want it, i would say wait 1 year, run the car in, then have it fitted as it only has a 2 year warranty, and you will appreciate the extra power the longer you wait! It's a bigger decision for AGP owners too considering the SS kit is almost double the price of that on the A500!

I didnt think it was much stiffer but I didnt think anything on the package added approaching 3K to the value, it was all just a little better. Biggest negative for me which could be clouding my judgement was the wheels, IMO they devalue the looks but thats a very personal thing. Im guessing if all you want is power many of the aftermarket maps will offer more than the SS kit, It would be fun having a non SS''d car that can beat an SS. OK Ive probably opened a can of worms but I have to say again its a personal thing.

I quite like the SS grey wheels :thumb:, don't like the white tho. I have only looked at getting the SS kit as its an official abarth product (may go for something different once all the warranties run out, maybe Sanspeed ), but i will have to see. I haven't got my car yet, but will have to see how it goes. Probably like s**t off a shovel :D

Havent seen the grey wheels in the flesh but I have to agree they look better in the pictures. Im afraid when I see the white ones it all looks a bit Halfrauds but thats just a personal thing. If you get a car with the 10 spokes & want to sell them later mail me on PM Me as I would be interested in buying them off you, We have one kerbed already so could do with a set of spares, you could put the money towards the SS kit ;)

I currently have a GPA Esseesse as a courtesy car (whilst the A500 is in to have a few bits and bobs sorted). F**k me its quick! Really impressed with it, can't believe how much power it has....Esseesse kit for the A500 now I think ;) Well if I could afford it :'(

My dealer was telling me that Abarth have changed the rules. I heard you could add a kit within 12 months at any time if you wanted too. However, now Abarth have stated that if it's been red-lined for more than 60 seconds within that 12 months, they will not fit one. Get it fitted from the dealer when purchasing is my view.

To be fair, in even track use you would only hit the rev limiter for a fraction of a second each time, so it would take a bit to add up even to 60 seconds
But a worry that something built on the basis of being a performance car has limitations as to "fair use"

whay would hitting the rev limiter for that amount of time make a difference to getting the kit fitted? Also, why is there a time and mileage limit on it? Am sure there will be a good reason but its past me

Time and mileage makes sure you are not fitting and warranting a performace kit to an engine that is clapped out.
