The 500 certainly isn't a family car in no way, shape or form... it is a city car that realistically can only seat 2 people comfortably and there is no arguing that really... the statement certainly seems to shoot down any speculation of a 500x Abarth anyway.

It's a shame as the 500X would make an awesome Abarth - great car :D

Heard they drive pretty well, with the abarth treatment and AWD could be looking at quite the beast.

not keen on the 124 & the Abarth version at all, and i don't get how they can say an Abarth has to be something "special" then pretty much dress up an mazda MX-5 when all past Abarth were genuine Fiats  :(

According to the latest Autocar the 124 Abarth will look different to the standard Fiat 124 and may gain a 4C derived engine.

If this has been posted elsewhere apologies:

I just hope that they have sorted the sill problem out.

I had several MX5s before switching to Fiat and Abarth. Each one had sill problems, one with the sills starting to rot when only 4 years old, but as Mazda judged it not to be from the inside out they refused to cover it within the  warranty. And this is that despite a rigorous attention to detail in keeping the drainage holes clear etc.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the MX5s, balance, handling and ride quality are superb, but I got totally fed up with the additional cost of rust damage to sills.

You'd like to think so seeing as this is a new model but who knows.
