Problems with playing music from iPhone
« on: July 08, 2017, 12:18:49 pm »
Hi everyone
I have a 2009 A500, which means it doesn't have blue&me so I am unable to play music through my phone via Bluetooth. I bought a blue&me USB adaptor and have been playing music that way but I still have to use a cable with it.
Recently my car has not been recognising it and hasn't been connecting to the 'media player'. My phone is connecting to it, as it shows it's charging but my car is having none of it and just plays the normal radio.
Does anyone know if there is another way I can play music via Bluetooth instead of using a cable? The blue&me adaptor doesn't seem to have Bluetooth, it just seems to be something for me to plug my phone into so my car USB recognises my phone, unless I am doing something wrong?
I do want to change my radio and get the pioneer screen fitted (which I think will allow me to play music through Bluetooth?), but this will cost me around £400 and I can't afford that at the moment.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I don't have an answer unfortunately.

I suspect it's more to do with your iPhone.

B&M is not updating anymore but iphones are.

Has the phone had a recent ios update?

No it hasn't. It had an update a month or so ago but was working fine up until last week  :(

    Oh well just a thought.

Have you tried another known good cable before you have to spend a lot of money?

Disconnect the car battery for a few minutes and then do a hard reset on the iPhone. This usually clears any minor glitches.

Blue & Me has never been able to play music by Bluetooth, but there are gadgets that you can buy that will. There is a thread in this section, I will see if I can find it.
