S2000 Abarth - in Birmingham
« on: October 29, 2008, 08:05:11 pm »
In December last year I was down in Birmingham with work and as I walked through the NIA I was a bit surprised to see the following:

Not sure why they were in Brum to highlight the Race of Champions (which was at Wembley) but did have a chance to have a quick look round.  The chap cleaning it wasn't keen to let me see inside tho.

Nice.  I haven't had a chance to see the S2000 in the flesh yet.  The shape of the body, with those flared arches, is just automotive perfection in my eyes.

I can tell you why it was there, because I saw it too. The NIA was used for the national Fiat dealers Q1 breifing meeting, and as that included all the information on the 500, it was considered important enough to bring an S2000 for display.
You can all place your orders for an S2000 through me if you want to, Abarth will build one from scratch for you.
The only down side is, it is not meant for road use, and it is 500,000 Euro.

I take it that as a rally car it has to be road registered, taxed and insured though. So if you wanted to blow 500,000 euros on one, you could in theory drive it on the daily commute?
