« on: May 11, 2009, 04:16:19 pm »
Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone know wether fitting a g-tech exhuast system will affect the warranty? as I know a few people have got them on here, I have pm john from vospers a week ago with no reply i'm guesing there busy or he's away or something.

Anyway like I said just wanted to know if its ok because if so i'll be ordering one asap for vospers to fit when i get back from scotland in a couple off weeks.

John is currently lapping up the sun, sea and sand so that would be why he hasn't got back to you.

It will cause warranty issues if the problem could have been caused by the exhaust.

what problems could be caused by the exhuast?

every dealer seems to say something different this is whats p*ss's me off when I purchased the car from westover I was told changing the exhuast would be fine and would'nt affect the warranty, then you get other dealers saying the total opposite probally wanting to sell the ss kit, I would'nt have a problem if the standard one was'nt so crap, I mean it 3 months old and its starting  to rust wtf.

Im not sure with the Gtech. The cat stays on so surely that keeps it limited the same as the standard exhaust. If you were to remove the cat or fit a high flow cat then it could be more of a problem. Saying that.. i don't know where the extra power is coming from since the cat isn't changed  ??? im using the full rev counter since i had it fitted.

So if that's right then really the only thing that could go wrong is the actual exhaust.

I was told by my dealer's service manager that fitting a cat-back exhaust would affect the warranty. However removing or fitting a high-flow cat would be a grey area if the engine went pop.

My Ragazzon system fits directly to the cat and replaces the rest of the standard system. It's 60mm all the way back from the cat including the flexi pipe.

It sounds very different, though it might not be to everyone's taste being more like intake roar at high revs.
