Title: Abarth GP Project
Post by: SeanT-Jet on October 03, 2014, 03:41:41 pm
Hey guys I'm gona start this thread as it's going to be a long project....I've got a 09 GP Abarth and the plan is to get it running over 300bhp... Now I don't know if it's been done already so any information will be much appreciated... So the plan is
Astra VXR injectors
GT2876 turbo
Custom exhaust system
Custom exhaust manifold
Forge intercooler
Standard rods and pistons for the time being (260bhp)
Forge DV
Cone Filter
And wherever I can get a decent map..
I'm gona post some pics up of the car and If you guys have any info that would be helpful to the build or even general knowledge I would very much appreciate it.

Regards

It's not hard

In the next few hours I will find out how much more than 395hp I have with a meth kit

Big inter cooler

My turbo is a gt2860rs

on the standard exhaust manifold with a adapter plate which has been ported and matched to the head

The head has had a lot of work  different cams  and porting

Pistons and rods Lower comp

Standard ecu with a remap

Big injectors  700cc.

Bit if you only want 300 hp you can do it on a smaller turbo  and have less lag

I don't get full boost til 5000

What kind of modification is required to make the Astra VXR injectors work on the AGP?

The setting of the ecu  the map needs rescaling as my mapper put it

My car had insignia vxr injectors but thay where to small for 400 hp

But thay just fit.

And I needed colder spark plug 10s I think

So are we saying the 2876 is gona be too big? And if so anyone got a 2860 or 71 up for sale? And Danaee you sayin the insignia injectors fit straight with only map modification?

Injectors yes only mapping  to make them work

If you want only 300hp then I think the 28 is to big

I think a 25 might be better for your needs

As on a 2860 my car only makes full boost at 5000rpm

Hope this helps

Turbo technics  tell them what you want  and thay might be able to build you a turbo that is as small as possible that makes the power you want for quick spool

I have found out that my car is making the max power it can

With the meth fitted 400hp is it. Thay tried upping the boost and advancing the timing  but it just want make more power

Intake temps never go above 25

So i don't think more power is avalible with out  porting the head a lot more and fitting cams that would destroy off boost power  making it a out and out race car fitting a tube Exhaust manifold  removing the air con and fitting a bigger throttle body and plenum
witch is know good as the car is my daily driver  work and back car

But nitrous might just be a good idear

Fast cheep reliable   Pick two. And the third is impossible
