Abarth intake upgrade
« on: June 12, 2015, 04:21:14 pm »
Hi all
Just been looking at my abarth gp engine and wondering if anyone has improved the intake on the standard air box.
It uses a pathetic air intake to the front grille, but I'm thinking of changing it to a hose behind the headlight.
Has anyone done this (have searched but couldn't find anything)
I know the esseesse kit includes a pipe to feed from there, but it's €65 from Italy and I'm sure it could be done cheaper.
Any ideas etc whack them down here please.
Thanks

The standard air intake is the same as in the Doblo  ;D Soon replaced mine with a K&N induction kit and placed a nice long cold air feed pipe down the side of my O/S wing.

I've replaced it now with a hose going to behind the headlight. No difference in sound :( but it picks up a little cleaner now.

There's a small piece of engine cover you can take off on the O/S. I've removed that and stuck my cold air feed there.

I currently have a Tmc induction kit which is very good, before that I had a gsr silicon hose which brought the filter down to the fog light area. That was very good in terms of performance but it was difficult to keep clean or replace.
